A lot a famous artists get together in Paris , when the Gioconda robbing takes place , being inspired by real events
In Paris get together several known artists such as Pablo Picasso (Ignacio Mateos) , Manolo Hugué (Jordi Vilches ) George Braque (Stanley Weber) , Max Jacob (Lionel Abelanski) , Guillaume Apollinaire (Pierre Benezit) , Gertrude Stein (Cristina Toma) and her lover Alice Toklas (Eszter Tompa ) . While , their friend Barón (Alexis Michalik ) steals some Phoenician sculptures from Le Louvre and he sells to them . Then , things go wrong when there takes place the robbery of the Mona Lisa painting from Le Louvre and being accused Pablo Picasso and Guillaume Apollinaire (Pierre Benezit) , and their friends attempt to help them . Gioconda has been robbed , who is the robber ? . Later on , the poet Apollinaire is deteained , judged and condemned .

This comedy about famous people contains historical characters , humor , entertainment and amusement . This is a slightly funny film with entertaining events , emotion , and love stories . The film moves in fits and starts most of which would be desirable, with more traps the viewer resists any kind, and some moments of enjoyment and others quite a few embarrassing . The flick gives a short description about lives of known people in Paris at early XX Century . This is a typical Spanish/French comedy from the 2000s with the usual ingredients such as enjoyable humor , habits of the notorious artists , relationships among them , along with a fun caper about a robbing . The film explores the relationships among the main artists of the XX Century : Picasso/Ignacio Mateos who appears painting his ¨Avignon's girls and portraits to his sweetheart Fernande Olivier : Raphaëlle Agogué ; the great painter/sculptor Henry Matisse : Tony Gaultier ; Manuel Hugué : Jordi Vilches ,who was a Spanish painter and sculptor , and representative of the Novecentismo Catalan ; Max Jacob : Lionel Abelanski ,a writer and painter expert on Surrealism Dadaism , and Picasso's best friend , finally died at a concentration camp . And as starring Apollinaire : Pierre Benezit , who is considered one of the foremost poets of the early 20th century , as well as one of the most impassioned defenders of Cubism and a forefather of Surrealism , he is credited with coining the term "cubism" in 1911 to describe the emerging art movement and the term "surrealism" , and became one of the most popular members of the artistic community of Paris , both in Montmartre and Montparnasse , his friends and collaborators in that period included Jean Cocteau, Erik Satie, Marc Chagall, Marcel Duchamp , he became romantically involved with Marie Laurencin : Louise Monot , who is often identified as his muse ; two years after being shrapnel wounded in World War I, Apollinaire died in the Spanish flu pandemic of 1918; he was 38 . And Gertrude Stein and her sweetheart Alice Toklas , together they hosted a Saloon in the home they shared that attracted expatriate American writers such as : Ernest Hemingway , Paul Bowles , Thornton Wilder and Avant-Garde painters , including Picasso ,Matisse and Braque .

Evocative and imaginative cinematography by José Luis Luis Alcaine who is deemed to be one of the best Spanish cameramen with a long and prestigious artistic career and Almodovar's ordinary cameraman , he has photographed successes such as ¨Volver¨ , ¨The bad education¨ , ¨The skin I live in¨ , and ¨Women on the verge of a nervous breakdown¨ . He was first cinematographer to use fluorescent tube as "key" lightning in the 1970s . Jose Luis Alcaine thought a theory that the Frank Borzage movie A farewell to the arms (1932) after a story by Ernest Hemingway, was the main and total inspiration for Pablo Picasso in the creation of the "Guernica", one of the most important painting of the 20th century. He believes that several images of a sequence of 5 minutes long showing the exodus of countrymen and soldiers on an infernal rainy night was the inspiration of Pablo Picasso. Furthermore , a willingness almost perfect of the elements of each shot , every sequence , every space . Sensitive and rousing musical score by Juan Bardem , including an enjoyable leitmotif .

The motion picture was professionally written and directed Fernando Colomo . Fernando Colomo was born in Madrid and is a talented and versatile writer/director who has made a vast array of often solid and entertaining films in all kind of genres as comedy, drama and one science fiction movie (1985 El caballero del Dragón) in a career that spans over 30 years . Especially known for directing comedies such as 1987 La Vida Alegre , 1988 Miss Caribe , 1989 Bajarse al Moro , 1993 Rosa Rosae , 1994 Alegre Ma Non Troppo , 1995 Efecto Mariposa . And in the 2000s directed Al Sur Granada (2003) , El Próximo Oriente (2006), Rivales (2008) and this La Banda Picasso (2012) .
