Storyline

Inspired by the 1957 film 'Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter,' 'Rock Hunter in 3D' expands on the ideas of how TV drastically changed the film world by showing how the current 3D craze has changed film and TV. Rock Hunter is an aspiring Shakespearean actor who believes his revolutionary acting methods could change the world of theatre and film. After his acting techniques are harshly shot down, he meets TV/Film/Video personified as movie-star like, sophisticated man. The Man propositions Rock to become the world's first 3D TV star as the lead role in the remake of his favorite old TV show 'The Adventures of Dick Majors'. Rock reluctantly agrees to the deal and rises to celebrity status but soon realizes that he's ruining his mother's nostalgic memories of the original TV show. Rock must make a difficult decision: to keep acting in the 3D show, continuing his lie and compromising his artistic integrity, or to save the show by killing his character, the series and possibly... himself.
