Mr. Nakamura (Won Lee) really loves children and the feeling he gets when children are close to him so he goes to the playground everyday to watch. He has a particular fondness for his neighbor Jason (Joseph Newcombe) who he always watches walking home from school. However, being around children makes him afraid of doing something "bad" because of an addiction he can't control. Just how far can he go in getting some sense of satisfaction before he looses control and succumbs to his addiction? Written by Scott Eriksson
Mr. Nakamura's Addiction is a beautifully written and beautifully photographed short film that has a very creative ending. I interviewed Scott Erikkson when the film was selected for the 2012 Newport Beach Film Festival for Seth Metoyer's MoreHorror in Hollywood. There is a black & white sequence in the film that is very impressive, and the music by Mike Kobayashi adds to the suspense. The producer, along with Eriksson, and editor of Mr. Nakamura's Addiction is Eric Chenjie Pan. Pan is a long-time collaborator on videos with Erikkson and did a magnificent job on the editing. I am a long-time follower of Erikkson's blog "Asians on Film", and Mr. Nakamura's Addiction shows that he is just as talented at filmmaking as he is at writing.
