Dave is not amused when self-appointed fashion policeman Max mounts an 'in-t-vention' and ruthless indoor follow-up patrol against his mate's apparent addiction to V-necks, yet ends up confiding the youthful trauma root cause. Penny trues Jane's advice to change her dates instead of bending all over to accommodate and imitate them, but only molds her guinea-pig to his ex-bride's dreams. Brad wants to disprove that Jane shaped him by reverting to his sloppy student persona, but is tempted back by homely comforts.
Jane convinces Penny to stop changing herself for every guy she dates, and instead to change the guy to suit her needs. Penny's first experiment is Jeff, a slacker who is 30 going on 20. Meanwhile, when Brad overhears Jane bragging to Penny about how she completely made him over after they met, he rebels, and starts walking, talking and dressing like his college-era self. And Alex and Max stage an "in-T-vention" to stop Dave from his obsession with v-necked T-shirts.
