Green Lantern: Beware My Power

Well, I never read any of the Green Lantern comic books, and the only familiarity I have with the character is the 2011 movie "Green Lantern", you know, the one with Ryan Reynolds.

As I sat down to watch the 2022 DC animated movie "Green Lantern: Beware My Power", it was really without properly knowing what I was getting myself into. And I am not usually overly keen on superhero themed movies, but I will watch them, as there are many entertaining enough. However, I have to admit that the storyline told in this particular animated movie failed to really capture my interest. The storyline felt to be all over the place, and not really having a solid red thread throughout the plot to guide the audience safely to harbor.

So "Green Lantern: Beware My Power" was perhaps a somewhat wasted effort on my account, as I found little enjoyment or entertainment in writers Ernie Altbacker and John Semper story here.

Sure, the voice acting was good, and that is definitely important to an animated movie. So at least that was something that spoke in favor of the movie.

And I will say that the drawing style and animation was good, and that also added to the overall movie. But without a proper storyline, then voice acting and animation could do only so little.

My rating of director Jeff Wamester's "Green Lantern: Beware My Power" lands on a four out of ten stars.
