Whitaker, who starred in Caland’s The Ripple Effect, describes it as a “re-envisioning” of that early film. “It deals with karma and people’s subconscious.” But he also believes that there is a touch of the supernatural in Repentance.
Liam Neeson is an earnings force unto himself, and his latest turn as an air marshal on a hijacked transatlantic flight in Non-Stop should evict The Lego Movie from its three-weekend stronghold on the No. 1 spot. But the big, looming unknown is Mark Burnett and Roma Downey’s Son of God. Its weekend prospects have analysts stumped, with estimates ranging anywhere from $12 million to $30 million. And even the high end of that could be wildly off.
With that said, here’s how things might play out. And, to change things up a bit,
"Non-Stop" stars Liam Neeson as an air marshal caught in a game of cat-and-mouse with a hijacker during a transatlantic flight. After receiving threatening text messages, the marshal springs into action to find the person responsible for holding the passengers hostage 10,000 feet in the air. Julianne Moore, Lupita Nyong'o ("12 Years a Slave"), and Michelle Dockery ("Downtown Abbey") star in supporting roles.
From the makers of hit "The Bible" mini-series comes the inspirational "Son of God." The biblical film brings the biographical story of Jesus, from his humble birth through his teachings, crucifixion, and ultimate resurrection, to the big screen.
