Chiem has a hard time working out why shy, sweet youngster Rudi Maasdijk, who was nearly fatally pushed in front of a streetcar by street thugs, mainly ethnic Moroccans, refuses like bystanders to identify the culprit. The reason is about as sad. Maik reluctantly checks on old Henk's corps, found at his modest home rotting for days, who left only a letter and a photograph to posh crone Cécile, but is pissed off by her uncooperative snob attitude to dig up their strangely intermingled past. Jeweler Marissing was victim of that year's third armed robbery, but denies firing the shot that chased the culprit. Josh confiscates his gun while rude to the press, so he's posted as undercover bodyguard. The robber returns, takes his partner hostage for a minute and is shot. However he's identified as illegal Armenian Bedros, whose respectable brother Aram has a remarkable story. Ex-con Barry starts working in city sanitation, where he has to clean up a marijuana farm.
