Storyline

The team easily corners juvenile robber Danny Lucic in a sports stadium, but son suspects rightly that Gil Collins, the ex-cop security guard who helped them on spot and needlessly shot the robber at the end, has a deranged agenda. While they work out he never digested being dismissed as SRU candidate or loosing custody of son Jacob, he takes Ed hostage, triggering a complex series of guilt and blame exchanges and culminating in mortal danger for both. Quotes

Gregory Parker: [on phone with security guard who's jumped in to try and negotiate] Gil, we're working out a solution here, buddy. You just keep Danny calm.
Gil Collins: Will do.
Gregory Parker: Let him know I'd like to talk to him, but don't pressure him, right? Just let him set the pace.
Gil Collins: Okay, I got it.
Gregory Parker: And don't promise him anything.
Gil Collins: [annoyed] I said I got it. You do your job, I'll do mine.
[Parker is taken aback and stares at the phone]
