"Mind-Sifter" is an episode of Star Trek New Voyages: Phase II starring Brian Gross, Brandon Stacy, and Jeff Bond. A tortured and amnesiac Captain Kirk is dumped into Eath's past by the Klingons, where he ends up in a 1950's mental institution. Meanwhile, a shattered Enterprise crew tries to survive with its new captain: Mister Spock.

After being tortured by the Klingons for information on the Guardian of Forever, an amnesia-stricken Kirk finds himself stranded in a 1950s mental institution. Meanwhile in the wake of the captain's disappearance and the crew's assumptions that he is dead, Spock is promoted to captain of the Enterprise which puts him at odds with the rest of the crew. Crazy Credits

Actor Victor Izay is credited for playing William Mulholland, but does not appear in the "Mind-Sifter" story. He appears in the Visual Effects Easter Eggs" segment by Pony R. Horton that is tagged onto Mind-Sifter on the online version. Horton directed a documentary called "A Test of Integrity" in 2003, which features Izay as Mulholland and Rick Gallaher (also seen but not credited) as a Times Reporter. The documentary still remains unfinished, but a segment is featured in the VFX Easter Eggs. See more »
