Disney is doing yet another “Toy Story” film, because sequels is their next play now that live-action remakes are not performing. Now we know that “Toy Story 5” will reportedly focus heavily on Jessie, according to Buzz Lightyear voice actor Tim Allen.
Allen talked to Wivb and let it slip that the fifth film is about Jessie, saying,
“I can tell you that it’s a lot about Jessie,” Allen said about the fifth “Toy Story” movie. “Tom [Hanks] and I do — Woody and I — do realign. And there’s an unbelievable opening scene with Buzz Lightyears. I can give you that, but I can’t give you much more.”
Buzz and Woody will be there but the film’s focus is going to be Jessie and the toys fighting digital devices?
“Toy Story 5″ will focus on the toys facing the challenge of staying relevant in a world increasingly dominated by technology and digital devices.

Tim Allen recently spoke to Wivb and revealed some of the first plot specifics for “Toy Story 5,” which is coming to theaters in June 2026 from Disney and Pixar. Allen is reprising the voice of Buzz Lightyear, who he says is front and center during the movie’s “unbelievable” opening sequence. The sequel will then pivot and focus largely on Jessie, the cowgirl first introduced in “Toy Story 2” and memorably voiced by Joan Cusack.
Allen told Collider last December that he had just completed his “first five-hour [recording] session for Buzz.” He called it “really weird” to find his Buzz voice again,...

Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, and Will Smith blockbuster race(Photo Credit –Instagram/Facebook)
There was a time when three of Hollywood’s biggest titans were locked in a quiet, high-stakes race – not for awards, not for roles, but for pure box office bragging rights. Tom Hanks, Tom Cruise, and Will Smith once battled it out for a record that said one thing loud and clear: unstoppable hitmaker.
Back in the 1990s and early 2000s, all three stars were at the top of their game. Tom Hanks had gone from Splash to Big to back-to-back Oscar wins for Philadelphia and Forrest Gump. Cruise was riding high with Top Gun, Rain Man, and the launch of Mission: Impossible. Meanwhile, Smith jumped from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air to alien-punching box office gold in Independence Day and Men in Black. Each of them was printing hits like clockwork.

Who's the main common denominator between Star Trek: Voyager, Seinfeld, and Toy Story? The answer is Estelle Harris, who guest starred in a Voyager episode, recurred on Seinfeld as George Costanza's mother, and provided the voice of Mrs. Potato Head in several of the Toy Story movies.
Breaking that down in more detail, Harris -- who died at the age of 93 on April 2, 2022, just 20 days shy of her 94th birthday -- guest-starred as Old Woman in the Voyager episode “Sacred Ground.” That season-three installment premiered on October 30, 1996. According to StarTrek.com, “The Old Woman was actually a projection of the Nechani Spirits, and Janeway’s (Kate Mulgrew) interactions with the Old Woman perhaps helped Janeway ease up on her hardcore devotion to scientific reason.”

It’s not uncommon for franchises to deteriorate with each passing release, especially under a studio-driven environment, with some of the lone exceptions being Mission: Impossible and John Wick. Although time will tell whether Mi 8 will serve as a conclusion to Ethan’s story or not, for the latter, we did get an immaculate send-off for Keanu Reeves’s titular figure.

Throughout the 1990s and 2000s, it seemed as if Pixar could do no wrong. The animation studio, in league with Disney, pushed forward the idea of all-computer-animated feature films back in 1995 with the release of "Toy Story," gaining a lot of critical attention for its clever writing and penchant for heart-rending sentimentality. It wouldn't be until the release of "Cars 2" in 2011 that critics would begin to cool to the studio. And even still, "Cars 2" was a $559 million hit.
In the 2010s, Pixar began to skew further and further away from original ideas and lean heavier into sequels or prequels to its earlier hits. Indeed, of the 10 Pixar features released in that decade, six were part of an established franchise. Some of these films were excellent, but the studio nevertheless seemed a few years beyond its creative peak.

At this point, The Office is easily considered one of the most beloved series of recent years. But that doesn't mean that every character that was part of the Dunder Mifflin family was loved by everyone. During a participation on the podcast Good Hang, hosted by Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation), former The Office star Rashida Jones (Sunny) talked about her one-season stint on the hit series and revealed that there was a simple reason why she was eventually let go from the show.
Jones stated that the decision not to keep her character Karen Filipelli in the story "made sense." As Poehler pointed out, it was a difficult character to play. Karen is introduced in Season 3, after Jim (John Krasinski) asks to be transferred to a different branch because he thinks things won't work out with Pam (Jenna Fischer) and believes it's best to stay away. 'Wait, Is This a Toy Story Movie?': Pixar Head Teases 'Unexpected' Surprises For Fans in Toy Story 5

Pixar has never been one to make a sequel just for the sake of making a sequel. Pete Docter, Chief Creative Officer of the Disney-owned animation studio, recently shared how the upcoming Toy Story 5 will take the beloved franchise in a new and unexpected direction.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Docter touched on how today's kids' movies and shows feel more fast-paced compared to ones from 30-plus years ago. "I think films have definitely sped up. Even Toy Story 1 to Toy Story 4, the level of visual sophistication, including the pacing, we’re just trying to keep in touch with the rhythms of the world and it’s definitely faster," he explained. "So I will say Toy Story 5, I think [writer and director] Andrew [Stanton]’s done a really great job of letting moments breathe in unexpected ways. Things that [make you think], 'Wait, is this a Toy Story movie?,' with some of his choices,...

Toy Story 5is still more than a year away from hitting the big screen, but one of the heads of Pixar is already teasing what audiences can expect from the upcoming blockbuster. Pete Docter was eager to talk about the sequel during a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter. The executive has worked at the studio over the course of decades, with Docter being a part of the development of some of Pixar's biggest hits. The topic the filmmaker wanted to discuss was the pacing of Toy Story 5. The rhythm of the upcoming sequel will be different from what was seen in the first installments of the franchise, considering how audiences have changed:
If you go back and look at Bambi — I’m picking an extreme that’s kind of intentionally slow because it is about nature and watching the changes seasons and things — I think films have definitely sped up.

In 1995, audiences witnessed something extraordinary. The texture of the images, the audacious humor, everything in Toy Story felt innovative, fresh, and daring. It was the beginning of a universe that would always revisit its original tone with three great sequels. 30 years later, the franchise is still alive, with Toy Story 5 arriving in theaters in June 2026. However, according to Pixar Cco Pete Docter, you should expect a few surprising changes to the beloved franchise: "We got to keep people surprised, so it's going to be fun."
In a conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Docter spoke about how it all began with Toy Story and how everything has changed, now that Pixar has become what it is. "It was just a bunch of us nerds. It felt like working in our garage," he comments about the first film. A three-time Academy Award-winner, Docter has a different role today in Pixar headquarters,...

Pete Docter, the co-chief creative officer of Pixar, is reflecting on being one of the so-called “nerds” who revolutionized animation filmmaking with “Toy Story.” Oscar-winning Docter was the supervising animator on the iconic 1995 film, which marks its 30th anniversary this year. He was later appointed co-chief creative officer of Pixar and Disney Animation Studios alongside Jennifer Lee in 2018.
“The fact that [‘Toy Story’] hit the popular culture was never [expected],” Docter told The Hollywood Reporter. “Working on it, it was just a bunch of us nerds. It felt like working in our garage. It was a whole rental space, not really fancy and a small team, so it was very casual and loose.”
And three decades later, Docter is “still amazed” at the film’s legacy, even if he believes it looks a little outdated amid the technological advances in animation.

Shifting Gears star Tim Allen has shared a delightful exchange between him and his Toy Story co-star, Tom Hanks, on social media. Allen and Hanks first teamed up 30 years ago for Toy Story (1995), the animated adventure film that was not only nominated for three Oscars, but also grossed over $390 million at the global box office against a $30 million budget. The two have since worked together on every Toy Story movie, even as recently as Toy Story 4 in 2019, which grossed over $1 billion at the worldwide box office. Allen posted two photos on his personal X account, one Hanks sent him of him standing behind the Volkswagen I.D. Buzz, and another that he replied to his co-star, recreating his picture.
While their roles in the Toy Story franchise remain some of the most important in both of their careers, Tim Allen and Tom Hanks have both gone on to accomplish great things as actors.

It's hard to believe that we're more than a decade removed from the last feature-length Muppet movie. In the spring of 2014, Disney released the final Muppets movie -- at least, the final one for now. "Muppets Most Wanted" was, like its 2011 predecessor "The Muppets," a fun, family-friendly homage to the Muppet movies of old. The 2011 film, starring Jason Segel and Amy Adams, was as much about the Muppets themselves as it was a reference-laden film riffing on the 1979 classic "The Muppet Movie." And just as "The Great Muppet Caper" sent Kermit the Frog, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, and Miss Piggy to Europe for a rollicking heist movie, "Muppets Most Wanted" sent its gaggle of Muppet characters away from the United States for an adventure that ran them afoul of Interpol and the world's first and second greatest criminal masterminds.
Muppet movies are also nothing if they're not delightfully self-referential, breaking the fourth wall with ease.

Flow is the recipient of this year’s Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. And it is a tremendous feat, with it being Latvia’s first Oscar win and continuing the streak of animated feature victories from studios that are not from Disney nor Pixar.
Credit where credit is due for the tiny victor starring a black cat and its non-talking animal friends, it beat both the Pixar tentpole hit Inside Out 2 and the new DreamWorks darling The Wild Robot, directed by Disney veteran Chris Sanders. That was quite a feat.
But for Disney and Pixar, that moment may cause concern for the once mighty studios and its future in winning the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.
Current output from both studios is rocky at best. Their last victories are for Soul for 2021, and for Encanto for 2022. Soul stood out from the crowd on that year, with the...

Studio Ghibli and Disney are two of the most influential animation studios in history, but their worldviews are as disparate as night and day. Disney has built a global empire by taking its beloved characters and turning them into billion-dollar franchises, whereas Studio Ghibli has deliberately shied away from over-commercialism.

This stark contrast is no accident as Ghibli’s reluctance to mass merchandise is a deliberate choice to preserve the artistic integrity of its films even at the cost of lost profit. In a recent interview, Toshio Suzuki, co-founder and former producer at Ghibli, disclosed some of the lesser-known studio regulations that will blow your mind.

For years, the Pixar Theory Timeline has been circulating on the internet. This timeline connects every movie in the Pixar universe. Author Jon Negroni, around 2012, proposed that Pixar intentionally leaves clues that indicate their movies occur in the same timeline and space, if people know how to arrange them. Negroni himself proposes a particular timeline for the movies that clearly shows how every installment connects to the following one.
The Pixar Theory Timeline proposes that from The Good Dinosaur to Monsters Inc., Pixar shows a society that has evolved into different species and technologies over the years. The main drive for all these movies seems to be that technology drastically changes the Earth, initiating new cycles of life. However, all of these beings are alive thanks to the power of human emotions.

Keanu Reeves is one of the most extraordinary movie stars of the past several decades, as he has managed to earn both legitimate praise and ironic appreciation. Although he began appearing in heartthrob roles just as the “Brat Pack” era began its decline, Reeves would become one of the definitive action stars of his generation alongside Tom Cruise and Wesley Snipes. In between his major sequels, Reeves still found a way to take on ambitious projects from acclaimed filmmakers, such as Taylor Hackford’s unusual legal thriller “The Devil’s Advocate” and Nancy Meyers’ charming romantic-comedy “Something’s Gotta Give.”
Despite facing a brief recess in his career after a series of critical disappointments in the first half of the 21st century, Reeves launched a major comeback when the “John Wick” franchise gave him another opportunity to show his merits as an action star. “Win or Lose,” Pixar’s first original TV series, takes a “Rashomon”-like approach to a co-ed middle school softball team called the Pickles as it heads to the championship game. Each of the eight episodes revolves around a different character, replaying the penultimate game from multiple perspectives to reveal the disparity between public and private behavior.
IndieWire got a peek at the first four episodes: The first kicks off with Laurie (Rosie Foss), the insecure daughter of Coach Dan (Will Forte), who’s hitless and constantly breaks out into a sweat that eventually transforms into a blobby companion called Sweaty (Jo Firestone). Win or Lose, Pixar’s first long-format television series is funny, heartwarming, and one of the best pieces of entertainment the studio has produced in years. Yes, the little streaming series that could is that good.
Win or Lose has an engaging format — almost an anthology series — connecting each chapter just enough to view the previous one in a new light. The series captures what the studio’s filmography does best: emotional storytelling, strong character development, and universal themes that bring people, families, and audiences together.
Now, if only Pixar’s recent film entries could rise to the occasion and reach this level of creativity.

But here we are, and “Win or Lose” is finally stepping up to the plate. The series follows a middle school co-ed softball team, the Pickles, as they prepare for their championship game - but with a twist. With just one week before the first two episodes of Pixar Animation Studios’ Win or Lose series launch on Disney+, two new clips and key art are now available.
Pixar’s first-ever original series features the intertwined stories of eight different characters as they each prepare for their big championship softball game—the insecure kids, their helicopter parents, and even a lovesick umpire.
The clips highlight characters from two upcoming episodes:
“Meet Sweaty” – The first episode introduces Laurie (voice of Rosie Foss), a 12-year-old softball player whose insecurity manifests into an ever-growing anxiety blob called Sweaty (voice of Jo Firestone) that only she can see.
“Cheating” – Episode four stars bubbly mom Vanessa (voice of Rosa Salazar), whose daughter Rochelle (voice of Milan Elizabeth Ray)—a talented player on the team—is accused of cheating on a test at school. Vanessa insists it didn’t happen—or did it?

After opening with a $25 million lead, Sonic the Hedgehog 3 may not have performed as well as its biggest competitor, Mufasa: The Lion King, but the film has still found success on its way to becoming the highest-grossing entry in the franchise. At the time of writing, Sonic 3 has collected $233 million from domestic markets and $238 million from international markets for a worldwide total of $471 million, but the film just crossed a major milestone for one of its stars. The third movie in the Sonic franchise has now passed both The Matrix and John Wick: Chapter 4 to become the third-highest-grossing movie of Keanu Reeves’ career, now short of only The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and Toy Story 4, where Reeves can be heard as the voice of Duke Caboom.

The Wild Robot dominated the 2025 Annie Awards honoring the best achievements in animation. The DreamWorks toon came in with 10 nominations across nine categories, and it won all of them: Best Feature, Best FX, Best Character Animation, Best Character Design, Best Direction, Best Music, Best Production Design, Best Voice Acting (Lupita Nyong’o), and Best Editorial.
The Annies win capped a momentous weekend for The Wild Robot, which also took the animated feature prizes at the Producers Guild of America Awards and Critics Choice Awards, cementing its position as the favorite going into the Academy Awards on March 2.
The film’s chief rival for the Best Animated Feature Oscar, Flow, also had a successful day, taking Best Feature — Independent and Best Writing, two races where it didn’t have to face The Wild Robot.

As amazing as Keanu Reeves is in the John Wick franchise, The Matrix: Resurrections, Toy Story 4, and even Sonic the Hedgehog 3, sometimes you just can't beat a classic. Ask anyone what Reeves' best action movie is, and you might get a few answers, including Point Break, The Matrix, or maybe even Constantine. But one film that you're guaranteed to hear is Speed, the 1994 action classic that temporarily gave the entire country a fear of buses.
Speed is enthralling audiences once again on streaming, as Max users can't get enough of Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock driving a bus and stopping a domestic terrorist (Speed was a wild movie!). The movie is currently putting in a strong showing on Max's Top 10 most popular movies of the week -- if it drops below fifth place, it might explode. Directed by Jan de Bont, Speed stars Reeves as Jack Tavern, a...
