Set in a fairytale land of the past, a woman in the late stages of pregnancy sets out on a journey through a haunted forest to find medicine for her dying husband. She encounters several dark figures on her journey including Babayaga, a strange creature, and a demon. She is forced to make a bargain with the creature in order to pass through unharmed. This bargain changes her and her child's future. Written by Anonymous
Tonjia Atomic has created with this short a great, creepy fable-like fairytale, filled with expressionistic tableaux and bizarre characters, reminiscent of the work of Jan Svankmeyer, and old German expressionist directors such as F.W. Murnau or Robert Wiene.
The lead character in the film, played by director Tonjia Atomic, is set at once at the beginning of the film on a journey through a haunted forest, where she's met repeatedly with ever increasing obstacles, one of which she discovers is much more sinister than at first appears. Events turn in an unexpected way, and the Director delves into some haunting territory, deftly using highly stylized, expressionistic shots and clever editing to conjure some unforgettable imagery.
