Storyline

Continuum is a one-hour police drama centered on Kiera Cameron, a regular cop from 65 years in the future who finds herself trapped in present day Vancouver. She is alone, a stranger in a strange land, and has eight of the most ruthless criminals from the future, known as Liber8, loose in the city. Lucky for Kiera, through the use of her CMR (cellular memory recall), a futuristic liquid chip technology implanted in her brain, she connects with Alec Sadler, a seventeen-year-old tech genius. When Kiera calls and Alec answers, a very unique partnership begins. Kiera's first desire is to get "home." But until she figures out a way to do that, she must survive in our time period and use all the resources available to her to track and capture the terrorists before they alter history enough to change the course of the future. After all, what's the point of going back if the future isn't the one you left? Written by ahmetkozan

Trivia

Due to the Vancouver location, several actors and actresses appear here as well as in various Hallmark series and movies and Lifetime movies. Here they often get to play against type. One of the leads, Lexa Doig, for example plays good girl Sally in the Auroa Teagrden mysteries, while here she plays a tattooed bad girl. Good guy Victor Webster has played in both Hallmark and Lifetime movies as both good and bad guys. See more »

Quotes

[second season opening title sequence]
Kiera Cameron: 2077. My time, my city, my family. When terrorists killed thousands of innocents, they were condemned to die. They had other plans. A time travel device sent us all back 65 years. I want to get home, but I can't be sure what I will return to if history is changed. Their plan? To corrupt and control the present in order to win the future. What they didn't plan on, was me.

Continuum brings Canada Sci-fi to the fore
31 July 2012 | by rich-strykerSee all my reviews

My week is not started until I get to watch my Continuum.

There is something about the program that engrosses me. I am so happy that the show doesn't hide that it is filmed in Canada and doesn't need to make the Canadian Armed Forces look uber- tough nor the police all spit and polish. The film quality and special effects are sharp and look up-to-date with American standards, I know the Canada has been doing such quality for American shows for decades. Also, it was hilarious to see "Carlos" doing the nude bathing scene and getting his butt kicked by a woman when normally Hollywood does the opposite.

The storyline is slow at points but it doesn't detract from the enjoyment of the show. The teasers and cliffhangers in the show such as in episode 9 makes you want to come back for more.

The show does use swearing. I'd prefer to have nothing at all but at least they keep it down to a minimum.

I am hopeful that there will be a second season and that foreign companies will start showing the program. I think it will do well in the UK and US.

Keep up the good work!
