Storyline

"American Idol" - Finale - May 25, 2011

The opening reminds us that 125,000 people auditioned.

Ryan says a record was set last night with 122 million votes.

In the audience; Previous contestant Michael Johns and winners David Cook and Lee Dewyze; Lori Loughlin, Harold Perrineau,

Group Sing: The Top 13 performs "Born This Way" by Lady Gaga.

Performance: James Durbin and Judas Priest perform a medley of "Livin' After Midnight" and "Breakin' the Law." James is in full metal regalia.

Video Package: A tribute to Randy and all of his "what kind of blank is this?" questioning and his endless "in it to win it"-ness. Ryan points out that Randy needs a new writer.

Performance: Jacob Lusk performs "I Smile" with Kirk Franklin and Gladys Knight.

Performance: Casey Abrams performs Queen's "Fat Bottomed Girls" with Jack Black. Girls ride in on bikes and Casey and Jack have a scat off.

Performance: The ladies of the top 13, minus Lauren, perform Beyonce's "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," "Irreplaceable," ...
