Jurassic Park III
Directed by Joe Johnston
Written byPeter Buchman, Alexander Payne and Jim Taylor
2001, USA
Continuing our look at the original Jurassic Park trilogy, we now come to the third film in a franchise that didn’t lend itself to franchising very well in the first place. Simply titled Jurassic Park III (with 3 claw marks!), the film represents the last gasping attempt to milk the groundbreaking 1993 techno thriller of its fandom after the darker and scattershot turn the franchise took with The Lost World: Jurassic Park in 1997. Released in 2001, another 4 years between sequels, but now long after dinosaurs had captured the movie-going zeitgeist. We’d been through an alien invasion and a disaster movie fad since then and had moved on. We’d cloned a sheep and science was continuing to demystify genetic engineering. If the franchise was going to remain relevant it would have to present us with a new idea,...

It may just be a special little treat for Jurassic Park fanatics. But it may also be a cryptic clue about the direction of one of the most highly anticipated sequels of 2015 - Jurassic World.
Director Colin Trevorrow has shared a new image on Twitter from the set of the original Jurassic Park movie, which eagle-eyed fans immediately recognised.
Jurassic World pays tribute to Richard Attenborough
Jurassic World details revealed in leaked brochure
The sign is the same one that Dennis Nedry (Wayne Knight) knocked down when he was trying to escape from the island with dinosaur embryos in the 1993 classic.
Will those dinosaur embryos be referenced in the new film or was this just a cheeky nod to the Steven Spielberg masterpiece?
Jurassic World, which will star Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard, is scheduled for release in June 2015.

Jurassic World (aka Jurassic Park IV) director Colin Trevorrow spoke with SlashFilm about his upcoming film in what appears to be an attempt to squash any rumors and calm the online waters surrounding the film and in doing so he's revealed some plot details that many will probably consider spoilers. He confirms the story will take place 22 years after the events of Jurassic Park and it seems the park itself is up and running, including dinosaurs. "Jurassic World takes place in a fully functional park on Isla Nublar," Trevorrow said. "It sees more than 20,000 visitors every day. You arrive by ferry from Costa Rica. It has elements of a biological preserve, a safari, a zoo, and a theme park. There is a luxury resort with hotels, restaurants, nightlife and a golf course. And there are dinosaurs. Real ones. (Cbr) Director Colin Trevorrow has confirmed several of the "Jurassic World" plot details leaked last week, admitting to /Film that, “Last week was discouraging for everyone on our crew — not because we want to hide things from the fans, but because we’re working so hard to create something full of surprises.” When I was a kid, you got to discover everything at once, it washed over you and blew your mind,” he continued. “Now it only takes one person to spoil it for everyone else. I hope whoever leaked it is actively trying to undermine what we’re doing. Because if they’re trying to help, they’re doing it wrong.” Trevorrow said that "Jurassic World" will indeed take place in an operating theme park on Isla Nublar, the remote island depicted in the first three installments of the Universal Pictures franchise. “It sees more than 20,000 visitors every day,...

“Life will not be contained. Life breaks free. Life… finds a way.” Mirroring Jeff Golblum’s foreshadowing words in the first Jurassic Park movie, apparently spoiler info also finds a way. Plot details for Jurassic World emerged online last week over on JoBlo. While much of the information would have likely been explained in the marketing of the film, it turns out some details were significant spoilers. The filmmakers were understandably upset by this. But instead of sitting around waiting to be eaten up by raptors (fanboys upset over facts that have no context yet), director Colin Trevorrow took the 'fight fire with fire' approach by not only confirming the leaked plot details but offering more information as well.
Here are some of the highlights from Trevorrow’s email interview with /Film’s Peter Sciretta:

Warning: This post contains Spoilers about the plot of "Jurassic World."
While movie spoilers have become the norm in Hollywood, that doesn't mean that filmmakers involved in yet-to-be-released projects are completely used to -- or happy with -- them. That's the case for "Jurassic World" director Colin Trevorrow, who begrudgingly confirmed that some recently leaked plot details about the film are indeed true, and also discussed why he wanted to keep an air of mystery about the long-gestating project.
In an interview with Slash Film, Trevorrow addressed a set of rumors that leaked through JoBlo last week that basically gave away the entire premise of the film. It turns out that JoBlo's source was right on the money.
(Stop reading now if you don't want to know the Spoilers.)

Colin Treverrow, the man entrusted by Universal to relaunch the Jurassic Park franchise with Jurassic World next summer, has just dropped some major spoilers for the upcoming film. In his defense, he did this as a response to some leaks that hit the web last week, and he's trying to take ownership of the story while reprimanding the loudmouth that spilled the beans.
"That’s the thing about leaks, sometimes they aren’t misinterpreted or false. They’re real story elements that the filmmakers were hoping to introduce to the audience in a darkened movie theater. But unfortunately, in 2014, you read about it on a computer. Last week was discouraging for everyone on our crew–not because we want to hide things from the fans, but because we’re working so hard to create something full of surprises. So little is known of Jurassic World at this point, other than it's filming. A few weeks ago, rumors started circulating about certain plot details, and many fans scoffed at the idea, though now the director himself, Colin Trevorrow, has finally spoken up to confirm that those plot leaks are, in fact, accurate. Come inside to learn more about the film (if you don't mind being a tad spoiled) and see what the director had to say.
As I said, these rumors started up a little bit ago (from JoBlo) and at the time, we didn't report on them here on the site, because I was mostly playing a wait and see game with the scoop. It was big enough that a leak like that would likely get some official attention at some point...and it did. Director Colin Trevorrow spoke exclusively to Slashfilm yesterday about the leaks and confirmed what was said.
