Wow, I was impressed by all the love emotions and stories filled with dramatic events by the very young Bardot in this recommended six episodes Netflix series. I have to admit I never imagined how powerful it has been made with very authentic atmosphere. The most important fact are the relations ships with all the charming French actors she met through her short diva career. Finally I had I even tears seeing some breathtaking romance scenes. I wanted really to see more of her life after the last part. It is longtime that I didn't want stop seeing this nice biography with one of the greatest legend of the cinema. Rating 8/10. See it.
A real disappointment. With a paperthin storyline, you never really get into the story. Brigit is portrayed as a 1 dimensional woman who goes from one relationship and man to another. It is a missed opportunity not to put down a slightly more in-depth character. Unfortunately, it remains too superficial. In terms of filmography and images, it is doable. But this cannot take the bad script to the next level. You have the idea that Bardot has a more deeper character, unfortunately this is not really noticeable in this series. The superficial stuff can be irritating to watch at times. It is more of a glorified soap opera in terms of level than a noteworthy series in this time and age.
The tv series is too slow and there is too much focus on her love life. The idea seems to be we should feel sorry for the rich, beautiful, famous and talented girl with so many people around here who loves her, men, friends and family. But that idea is mostly provoking. In one scene, the theme known from Platoon is comically played while she forces herself through a crowd of people who adores her and her fame.
The actors are ok though and the theme is a good one. The writers seem to be saved by the notion that every episode should have a cliffhanger and perhaps that's the only thing that moves the story forward.

- TriviaWhen asked about the series in December 2022, Brigitte Bardot, then 88, claimed she wasn't aware of it and in any case couldn't care less about "dumb biopics". In 2010 she had already stated about a planned American biopic feature film to be directed by Kyle Newman and to star his wife Jaime King, "I am not OK with a film about me when I have not been told about it and when I have not given my agreement to the person playing my role". The project ended up being abandoned. In the same interview, she declared that no one was right to play her and that she hadn't seen Gainsbourg: A Heroic Life (2010), where Laetitia Casta plays her in a supporting part.
