- Three women are sent to intercept a major drug deal at a diner at 3 AM and get the money. Simple - save for Murphy's law: anything that can go wrong will go wrong.
- For Tes (Malin Akerman) and her two cohorts Kara (Nikki Reed) and Dawn (Deborah Ann Woll), the job sounded simple enough: intercept a double-cross drug shipment for their crime boss Mel (Willis) at an isolated diner. But when an unstoppable chain of events unfolds, everyone soon realizes no one is who they seem and the job may be something other than eliminating the competition. What started as simple instructions has now turned into a deadly cat-and-mouse game - with large guns pointed at everyone.—Stopysayingthrillride
- For Tes (Malin Akerman) and her two cohorts Kara (Nikki Reed) and Dawn (Deborah Ann Woll), the job sounded simple enough: intercept a double-cross drug shipment for their crime boss Mel (Bruce Willis) at an isolated diner. Tes, Kara and Dawn wait in a booth at the target diner, trying to pass the time with idle talk. Tes considers herself to be the leader of their group. Kara does not agree with Tes, while Dawn does not care about anything. The diner only has one other patron (a drifter), and one couple who are sitting at the other end of the diner.
But things go wrong when the shipment is late (Tes and the girls waited till 3 AM) & Tes decides to stick the joint & question the owner Francine (Jill Stokesberry) regarding the shipment. Tes argues that there is no way that anything goes down in the diner without the owner knowing about it. Kara puts a gun to the owner, while Dawn keeps a lookout at the door. Tes keeps the other patrons in check, while Kara questions Francine. As they execute the plan, the owner lady picks a shot gun & shoots Kara, killing her. Dawn shoots the owner. A drifter in the joint shoot Dawn. Tes shoots the drifter.
Going back in time by a few days. Tes is a strip club dancer. Tes is very pretty and chased by the strip club patron who solicit her for sex. Tes stiffs them by stealing their wallet for petty cash. Tes, Kara & Dawn work for Mel. Someone is running a drug shipment on Mel's route. The operation is that a driver picks up a shipment at the coast and drives it to the diner. Another driver is waiting at the diner with the money. D2 gives the money to D1 & takes the truck. Neither man knows the other, they only know to meet each other at the diner. Tes has to get the shipment & find the identity of D2. D2 is the person running drugs on Mel's route. Tes says that since D1 and D2 don't know each other, they would simply walk away in case something was to go wrong.
Tes receives a call from Mel at a public telephone booth instructing her to be at the diner before 2:30 AM. The diner is 40 miles out of town & the girls set out. Kara wonders why Mel is sending them 40 miles out of town. Dawn says that Kara is just overthinking things just like she always does.
Meanwhile D2 Ronny (Forest Whitaker) is traveling the same highway, headed to the diner. It looks like Ronny intentionally lured a Sheriff to steal his cop car. Ronny pretended that his car was broken down further along the highway as he had seen the cop car earlier at the diner. The sheriff stops by to see if the driver needs any help. Ronny shoots the highway Sheriff & steals his car. The Sheriff had inspected Ronny's engine when it was stopped by the side of the Highway, which is when Ronny shot him. Ronny is following the girls in the cop car.
Ronny shoots a grocery store attendant where the girls stopped to buy gas. He stops the girls on the highway, dressed as Sheriff, & sizes them out & lets them go. The girls tell Ronny that they are on their way to visit a sick relative, in another town. Ronny makes them say the name of the relative at the same time, and they all say Uncle Mel. Kara is driving and claims that it is her brother's car, and hence does not have the registration for it.
Meanwhile another cop Connors (Brad Dourif) discovers the grocery shop shooting. It is revealed that the girls messed up a previous job for Mel & it's more than suspicious that Mel has sent them 40 miles out of town, when he wouldn't send them out of parish for anything.
Fast forward to present, Billy (Shea Whigham) is the Francine's partner & he comes out from the kitchen hearing the gun shots. Tes & Billy are aiming guns at each other. Billy tells Tes that he knows Mel & that Tes is stupid to think that Mel will send 3 bimbos to figure out who was running his routes. Billy says that there was no one running the routes & there is no shipment. That's when D2 walks in & shoots the remainder of the witnesses. D2's real name is Ronny & he implores Tes to remember him.
Ronny had saved Tes from drunk guys at the strip club 2 years ago & had introduced her to Mel & promised to watch over her. The drunk guys wanted to spend the night with Tes and she was resisting their advances. Tes is shocked since she saw Ronny for all of 15 minutes and that too 2 years ago. Billy tells Tes that Mel had paid Billy to get rid of the girls because they messed the last job. Ronny says that from the minute Tes started working for Mel, her life was destined to end this way, in an ambush, organized by Mel.
Now Ronny demands that Billy hand over the money to him. Ronny tells Tes that he was there to protect Tes on each & every job & the one time he wasn't there, she messed up. Ronny loved Tes. He wants to collect the money & run away with Tes. Tes still doesn't believe him & thinks Mel is putting her through a test.
Ronny pressures Tes to shoot Billy, Billy tries to convince Tes that Ronny is playing a game. In the tension, Tes shoots & everyone fires. Mel arrives & finds only Ronny alive with a neck wound. He tells Ronny that he is angry at him for stealing from his business & that's why he set up this charade to lure Tes as her knew Ronny would follow. Mel kills Ronny. Tes, who has survived the shootout, shoots Mel & escapes with the money bag that Mel brought to pay off Billy.
