Sinopsis

  • Open with the guys up to their usual trial tricks. Franklin is locked in a water tank and we see a bailiff pull out his gun.

Cut to a meeting of the partners at Infeld Stanton. Infeld tells the table "our little experiment with Franklin and Bash has concluded."

Franklin and Bash arrive at the firm and run into old friend Robby who has gotten arrested for drinking on the beach. He thought the woman was in costume and is now worried about losing his job.

Infeld tells the guys he has proposed theme becoming full partners. They need a two-thirds majority vote from the rest of the partners. He says he thinks the vote will be very close and signing some big corporate clients will make the difference. He suggests they meet with Lawrence Reynolds, chief counsel for one of the largest beverage corporations on the West Coast and try to sign them as a client.

The guys meet with the officer who arrested Robby. They explain Robby didn't know who she was, but she isn't interested in dropping the arrest.

Franklin and Bash meet with Reynolds' company's board. Larry seems impressed with their courtroom techniques and takes them on the company helicopter to a commercial shoot.

The next morning the guys wake up hungover after the big party. Carmen has located some of the women who had been dressed up as cops the day Robby was arrested. Infeld calls the guys and tells them Larry was arrested last night for parking his helicopter on a hotel and tells them to bail him out.

Damien and Hanna are skeptical about Franklin and Bash becoming partners.

Bash uses some inside info on the judge to get Larry off. He gives them a trial case before hiring Infeld Daniels. Somebody is selling a microbrew Larry's company owns as their own and he wants the guys to stop them. If they get it right, the firm is hired.

Bash is looking into whether the cop (Wendy) has a track record of violence.

The guys talk to the woman who has been selling the beer. She's devastated she won't be able to sell it anymore. Her father sold the rights for 30 grand after entering it in a contest years ago. Franklin advises her not to waste money fighting it.

Bash argues to a jury that Robby thought Wendy was in costume. The judge isn't allowing Bash to open her police file. Bash calls Wendy to the stand and tricks her into helping them get her file admitted. But there is nothing in the file to help him.

Bash sits with a drunk Wendy at a bar. He explains Robby is a good guy and just doesn't want to lose his job. She shows him what she did to Robby to restrain him and explains there is no way he could have thought she was just "fooling around."

Pindar shows Carmen his medical file. He explains the origin of his phobias is a former college roommate who kicked him out of the room when he was with girls. This drove him to the infirmary.

Franklin and Bash are in court with the tavern owner. Her small-time lawyer argues that the rules of the contest require her father got drunk, making him signing away the rights to his beer not legally binding. He wants to shut down Larry's company's brewery and is looking for $100 million in punitive damages. The judge is impressed and agrees to trial.

Pindar thinks the restaurant is looking for a settlement. Franklin thinks they're in trouble. Carmen wants Pindar to find his old roommate and take back his power.

In court Franklin asks the brewer about her beer and the origin of the recipe. He points out that her father did not grow one of the ingredients in California, which makes their win invalid and gives them no claim to the recipe.

Despite the win, Larry wants the guys to go after the prize money that the woman's father woman, plus interest. That would be an amount close to $250,000 and would shut her down. They think it's excessive, but he wants to send a message.

Robby mentions his love of sunscreen, which interests Bash.

In court Bash puts on the costume and sunscreen that Robby was wearing that day. He shows that with the sunscreen on he was able to slip out of the hold, meaning he wasn't aware she was an officer.

Pindar's roommate tells Carmen that he never kicked him out. He had a girlfriend at the time, and Pindar would leave on his own whenever she was around.

Wendy implies she'd be interested in seeing Bash socially. He agrees to call her.

Infeld tells the guys they got the vote needed to be partners. They don't want Larry to countersue, but Infeld thinks they need to be advocates for the client. They tell him they won't do it, and don't want to be partners. After they leave he calls Damien and says "Unfortunately you were right. I need you to pull the trigger."

We see that the restaurant with the suit.

Hanna tells Damien about a morality clause in the firm's partner agreement that could get the guys removed. They plan to start keeping a log of the guys' behavior.

Franklin tells Carmen about serving the countersuit, and tells her they can now hire both her and Pindar as employees of the firm. That will mean 401K and health benefits. The guys call Larry, who tells them to drop the suit.
