A JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE SOLAR SYSTEM AND AN EXPLORATION OF THE VASTNESS OF THE HUMAN SPIRIT In 2045, the largest solar flare ever recorded hit earth, crippling communication networks and leaving North and South America in disarray. Disconnected from Earth and trapped on separate parts of their spacecraft, crew members must fight for survival following th disaster on board the ill-fated Aethon, a manned solar research vessel sent on a mission to the sun. As painful memories, forgotten dreams, technological challenges and blunt realities collide--they must work together to keep their hope alive in the face of growing darkness. But prior to the enormous solar flare that left the spacecraft in critical condition--things were already amiss onboard. Despite being hailed as co-operative endeavor between the private research company, CimmTech, and the North American Space Coalition NASC, the divergent missions of each organization had put the crew at odds especially when some of the experiments were causing the Aethon Language Interface (ALI, the voice of the spacecraft) to glitch and risk the lives of the crew. Now, stranded in close orbit to the sun, the survivors struggle to manage damaged life support and communication systems. They must uncover the truth by listening to ALI's recordings made throughout the Aethon's final mission in hopes of finding a way home, while haunted by guilt, haunted by trauma, and possibly haunted by ghosts
