I hoped more. I wished more. But it was a flat overall. Bad directing, Bad actor work. Bad cutting. Very lousy filming positions once and once again. Bad everything you wish from a good series... Man I give a few episodes more in a line but if this is the same after 3 eps I am done. Very very bad start for a series.
From the start the show was very unrealistic as whatnot. I actually stopped watching this like 6 or 7 times before could watch the whole first episode. If you hope this would be like a Breaking bad 2.0 forget it. This has nothing to offer for a good drama series. I hope a couple of next episodes can save it but I just can't see it.

Giancarlo Esposito is excellent as usual. I disregard the poor ratings for series and movies with a predominant african american cast. I love movie setting in the new orleans area.

If they wanted a text title about the Parish; Two words would be enough. 'Bad Director'
You have a very good leading actor who is a world star >>>>Giancarlo Espasito.
There is a very good script with a 5-season guarantee.
But all of this was entrusted to a bad director who could not visually prepare and present it to the audience.
Is a bear running after the director? What's your rush? Is there a new art you want to give us with disconnected visuals?
David Benioff, D. B. Weiss, Alexander Woo.
You have to work harder to do a better job.
And that bad music? What is your problem? Half the battle is good music. You should find better music.

Awesome Production value and engaging scenes
its got that NOBODY and EQUALiZER ambiant feel look. Smooth script theatrical score with grest cinematog ...
The obb reminds or ringfs me that criminal minds early days . Every episode is dramatic the establishment of seqence is legitimately so natural and its like you are party of every angle of the story. POV is brought to new charaters and pivoting back to PARiSH .
Director did a great job telling the story ... a slow organic one that can grow overtime with so much potential. A Serious show for serious veiwers only.
A lot of spinoffs can come out of this. For now enjoying this one and looking forward to every episode. Keep up the good tracks Scenes and cliffhanging scenes.

It felt like we were dropped into the middle of a season instead of the start of a brand new show. There's zero character development. You just have to figure it all out on the fly. We have no idea why Parish is who he is or why the bad guys are even the bad guys. Then there's Parish's family. These are all complicated characters but we get zero backstory. They just jump into the middle of things. And with that they give us only six episodes?
They also seemingly did things on as cheap of a production budget as possible. Some scenes it sounds like they were filming in a telephone booth.
This show might get a season 2 due to Esposito's popularity. Otherwise surely this would get canceled.
