MoviePass Parent Company Acquiring Emmett Furla Oasis Films (Exclusive)

Helios and Matheson Analytics, the parent company of MoviePass, has acquired the exclusive option to buy Emmett Furla Oasis Films, the producers of “Lone Survivor” and “End of Watch,” Variety has learned.

If completed, the deal will enable the company to buy the entire film library and current production slate of Efo Films. Helios and Matheson plans to use the library and the filmmaking expertise of Efo Films to launch its own production company, MoviePass Films. Randall Emmett and George Furla will serve as co-ceo’s of the new venture.

The deal comes as MoviePass, best known for allowing customers to see a movie a day for less than $10 a month, is facing questions about its long-term future and current capitalization. Last week, Helios and Matheson’s stock fell to 40 cents-a-share, its lowest closing price, amid investor alarm about a cash shortage. In October, Helios and Matheson’s stock had been trading at $38.86 a share.

David Ayer Sheds More Light On Joker’s Original Role In Suicide Squad

Perhaps more so than any other Dceu film before it, Suicide Squad struggled to do good on its abundant potential.

Despite an A-list cast and a competent director in David Ayer (see: End of Watch, Fury), a convoluted story and alleged studio meddling marred Task Force X’s big-screen debut to such an extent that, even after scoring $745 million worldwide, Suicide Squad was widely considered to be a major disappointment.

That’s a pity, really, but it means the upcoming Suicide Squad 2 will offer Task Force X a shot at redemption – Jared Leto included. That’s not to say that his performance as Batman’s arch nemesis was necessarily bad; simply that the Joker was woefully underused in Suicide Squad‘s final cut, and now, Ayer has taken to Twitter to shed a little more light on what the character’s original role in the film was, saying:

Joel Edgerton says reaction to Bright is the “inverse” of Star Wars: The Last Jedi

One of the stars of Bright, Joel Edgerton, has compared the critical and fan reception of the film with that of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

One can’t assume that just because a film performs well with critics that fans will in turn love it, and inversely, one can’t assume that because critics pan a movie, fans won’t take to it.

Netflix’s Bright found the latter part of that statement to be particularly accurate, as even though the film was received rather poorly by critics upon release, fans have responded far more positively, as Joel Edgerton recently explained to Collider:

“All I know is what was reported, which was something like—whatever number was reported—something like 11 million that first weekend,” said Edgerton “Whatever it was, it amounted to a $100 million-plus opening weekend. But, I have to be honest, that’s considering that people don’t

‘Your Move’ DVD Review

Stars: Luke Goss, Robert Davi, Patricia De Leon, David Fernandez Jr., Jeanette Samano, Luis Gatica, Alain Mora, Barbarella Pardo, Denitza García, Tonya Bordeaux, Zokai Holmes, Laura Martin, Jordan Simkovic, Mopar Murray | Written and Directed by Luke Goss

Former pop star turned actor Luke Goss has had an interesting post-pop career, carving his own path in Hollywood, appearing in a number of action movies since his star-making turn in Blade 2. He has put in some great performances in a bevy of direct-to-market action movies (in particular the two Death Race sequels); and that’s despite any shortcomings said movies may have had! Though to be fair Goss’ schtick: smouldering good looks and a quiet demeanour, hiding a hard man of action hero proportions – goes a Long way in these types of genre films.

However with Your Move, Goss not only appears in front of the camera as the films star, but
