Ryan Murphy Confirms American Horror Story Season 8's Shocking - and Spooky - Theme

Ryan Murphy Confirms American Horror Story Season 8's Shocking - and Spooky - Theme
Over the past few months, American Horror Story fans have been busy theorizing all the themes that Ryan Murphy's highly-anticipated eighth season might revolve around. Although "Radioactive" was a frontrunner, especially after Murphy teased the season would take place in "the future," the showrunner took the opportunity to throw loyal viewers yet another curve ball when he announced the real theme via Twitter on June 14. "The Coven/Murder House Ahs crossover season won't be happening next year," he tweeted. "Because it's happening This Year. Ahs #8 Witches Rule This September."

Tonally, "Murder House" and "Coven" seem like a perfect match. The first season centers around a deeply unfortunate family who unsuspectingly move into a gorgeous - but haunted - mansion in La, and stars Connie Britton, Taissa Farmiga, and Dylan McDermott. The third season also stars Farmiga, who plays a girl who gets sent to a special school in New

Both Emma Roberts And Taissa Farmiga Set To Return For American Horror Story Season 8

It’s a season unlike any other.

Sure, Game of Thrones and The Walking Dead are each bracing for Earth-shaking new installments – the latter will even spell the return of a familiar face – but season 8 of American Horror Story is different in that it’ll herald the long-anticipated “Coven/Murder House” crossover. And it’s even bringing back one or two unfriendly faces for the ride.

Chief among them is Emma Roberts, whose Madison Montgomery proved to be one of the more memorable figures from “Coven.” The actress confirmed her return via Instagram (h/t Deadline), where she said: “Surprise, bitch! Bet you thought you’d seen the last of me.”

Based on the jet-black attire and shrill voice, we can infer that Roberts actually slipped into character for her brief Instagram update, while Taissa Farmiga all but confirmed her own involvement in Ahs season 8, after posting a now-deleted Tweet

One of the Oldest American Horror Story Theories Might Be Legit

One of the Oldest American Horror Story Theories Might Be Legit
It's hard to believe we're on the cusp of the eighth season of American Horror Story. In a few months' time, we'll enter the terrifying mashed-up world of Murder House and Coven, giving us an even broader view of this hellish universe.

Speaking of hellish, it's time we talked about one of the oldest and most insane theories about Ahs. Basically, the theory states that every season of the show represents a different circle of Hell. It even might explain why the same actors are playing different characters: we're seeing them suffer their different forms of damnation, depending on how they lived their lives.

While the theory has been posed by dozens of different people in dozens of different ways, I did my research and attempted to track down the first time it appeared. It seems the credit might go to Jacqueline Bircher, who originally posted the theory on a

Emma Roberts Possibly Returning To American Horror Story As Her Coven Character

American Horror Story fans were thrilled enough when Ryan Murphy revealed the new season would be a crossover between Murder House and Coven, and now Emma Roberts just made things even more exciting. The actress posted the following video to her Instagram, which clearly shows her channeling the character of Madison Montgomery:

Montgomery's return is pretty impressive considering she was killed not once, but twice in Season 3 of American Horror Story. Bloody Disgusting reported that Murphy confirmed all the witches from Season 3 have been invited back, although that tweet has since been deleted. Are you excited to see Roberts back as Montgomery? Are you excited for yet another season of Ahs?

Wondering When American Horror Story Season 8 Will Premiere? Here's Our Educated Guess

Wondering When American Horror Story Season 8 Will Premiere? Here's Our Educated Guess
Just when the break between American Horror Story's season seven finale and season eight premiere was starting to feel like an eternity, Ryan Murphy swooped in with a pretty exciting bit of information about what fans of the FX anthology series can expect in the next batch of episodes.

Despite pretty strong rumors that the season would have a "Radioactive" theme - which would tie in perfectly with Murphy's hints that it's taking place in the near future - the showrunner revealed season eight will actually be the highly-anticipated crossover between season one's "Murder House" and season three's "Coven." Since Sarah Paulson and Even Peters are officially on board to star, will they be reprising both of their respective roles from said seasons? There's still no word on that, but luckily Murphy's announcement also contained a helpful clue about when season eight will arrive on FX: September.

Yes, That's an American Horror Story Regular in the Spooky Trailer For The Nun

On Sept. 7, the Conjuring franchise is getting even twistier than it was before. Set long before The Conjuring or even Annabelle, The Nun takes place in a secluded abbey where a nun takes her own life. Suspecting there's something darker afoot, Father Burke (Demián Bichir) and a novitiate on the verge of taking her vows are sent to investigate. That young woman is Sister Irene, who's played by Taissa Farmiga, an actress who is more than acquainted with the horror genre.

The Conjuring franchise is keeping it all in the family by casting Farmiga to play the demon-hunting Sister Irene. The actor's big sister Vera Farmiga starred in the first two films as Lorraine Warren, one half of a ghost-hunting team that takes on impossible cases. It remains to be seen if there's a direct connection between Sister Irene and Lorraine, but the movie is a spinoff of The Conjuring 2,

Which Beloved Characters Are Returning to American Horror Story? Our Top Guesses
Ryan Murphy dropped a bombshell this week when he revealed that the eighth season of American Horror Story would actually be the previously announced Coven/Murder House crossover. Already, our minds are spinning with questions: What does that mean about all the other details Murphy dropped in the past six months? Were they meant to mislead us, or will they all factor into the newly confirmed theme? And, more importantly, which characters from those seasons are set to return? Murphy was predictably tight-lipped about recurring characters, but we've got the powers of deductive reasoning in our arsenal. Using the confirmed cast and other major clues, we've got a few educated guesses about who may be returning. Dust off those tinfoil hats, friends.
