Tom Rothman Inks Multi-Year Contract Extension As Sony Motion Picture Group Chairman
Tom Rothman, who oversees all of Sony Pictures’ motion picture operations worldwide including Columbia Pictures, TriStar Pictures, Screen Gems, Sony Pictures Animation, Sony Pictures Classics and Sony Pictures Imageworks, has recently seen his contract re-upped in a multi-year deal.

Rothman came to the Culver City lot via 20th Century Fox in late 2013, where he served as the chairman of TriStar Pictures. In February 2015 he was named to his current role of chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment Motion Picture Group.

His contract renewal is well-deserved: He’s turned around the studio, with last year’s slate posting the highest ultimate profits in more than a decade. Rothman has continually been known as a studio boss who takes big risks on the screen at reasonable costs. During his tenure, he led his production, marketing and distribution teams to make Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, the studio’s highest-grossing movie in Columbia Pictures’ 100-year history.

‘You’ Review: Lifetime’s Addictive New Drama Has Dangerous Fun Exploring Why Obsession Isn’t Love
The new Lifetime series “You” is playing a dangerous game. But it knows that.

Invoking the best qualities of David Fincher’s “Gone Girl” and Mary Harron’s adaptation of “American Psycho,” this twisted don’t-call-it-a-love-story-except-it-kinda-is juxtaposes the idea of love as glamorized by the romance industrial complex with its dark side.

Which is to say, this is a show about a guy who doesn’t know the difference between obsession and romance, operating in a world which often has the same problem. Based on the book by Caroline Kepnes, “You” is seen through the eyes of Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgley), who is on the surface a “nice guy” working as a bookshop manager in New York. When the beautiful and smart Genevieve Beck (Elizabeth Lail) comes into his shop, the pair seem to form the beginning of a connection. Of course, most meet-cutes aren’t followed by aggressive stalking — first of the cyber kind,

Mayans M.C. Review – Kurt Sutter Returns To A Setting He Can Manage

Heading into Mayans M.C., which is something of a sequel/spin-off hybrid, the only question that really matters is whether or not we’re heading into something that actually delivers on the treatment and world-building of Sons of Anarchy. With several years, and The Bastard Executioner, between Kurt Sutter‘s somewhat questionable end to that show and now, a new run with a motorcycle club might go anywhere. Luckily, if the first two episodes are a true indication, Sutter has taken the time to reevaluate the structure, pacing, and plot development in his writing, which means the show kicks off almost as though it had been written at the same time as the third season of SoA, but with a little more experience showing through. Just as important, Sutter built off one of SoA‘s most important devices, having a ton of balls in the air at once. As

‘American Soul’: Sinqua Walls To Star In Bet Drama Series
Exclusive: Former The Breaks star Sinqua Walls is set as the lead in American Soul, Bet’s upcoming drama series based on the life and career of Soul Train creator Don Cornelius, from Jesse Collins Entertainment.

Walls will play a young Cornelius in the 10-episode series that is inspired by the personal trials and professional successes of the young, ambitious and troubled impresario Cornelius. The drama series is described as an unflinching look at the entrepreneur, his Soul Train dancers, crew and musicians in an unforgiving Hollywood in the 1970’s – how they work, play, rise and fall against the backdrop of Soul Train — “the hippest trip in America” and one of the most predominant television shows for African American culture. The series was announced in April as part of Bet’s 2018-19 slate. A premiere date has not yet been set.

Damon Herriman set for double Charles Manson duty in Mindhunter and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood

Earlier in the week it was announced that Australian actor Damon Herriman is taking on the role of Charles Manson in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and now comes word that he’s also set to play the notorious cult leader in the second season of the David Fincher-produced Mindhunter.

Collider reports that Herriman had already been cast as Manson in Mindhunter prior to the Once Upon a Time announcement, and he actually shot his scenes back in July. Unlike Tarantino’s film, which is set in 1969, Mindhunter season two will feature an incarcerated Manson as the show explores the Atlanta Child Murders, which took place between 1979 and 1981.

As yet, there’s no word on a release date for the second season of Mindhunter, so it’s unclear as to whether we’ll see Herriman’s Manson on the small screen first, or in Tarantino

‘Avengers Grimm: Time Wars’ DVD Review

Stars: Lauren Parkinson, Elizabeth Eileen, Marah Fairclough, Christina Licciardi, Michael Marcel, Katherine Maya, Eric Feltes, Randall Yarbrough, William Knight, Rah Johnson | Written by Jeremy M. Inman | Directed by Max Elfeldt

Originally released in 2015, I was something of a fan of the superhero mockbuster Avengers Grimm, which was an off-the-wall mix of Grimm Fairy tale characters and superhero team-up movies from the schlockmeisters at The Asylum, the company behind such films as Transmorphers, Hercules Reborn and Sharknado. Despite its low-budget and somewhat flawed nature, the film was, and still is, a brilliant example of how to modernise fairy tale characters and Not just be a Once Upon a Time rip-off. It’s also a fantastic example of a family-friendly action movie with a strong central female cast – beating the current crop of big-budget movies to the mark by a few years (it’s surprising sometimes how often low-budget indie film making

You see, Herriman not only landed the role of Manson in Tarantino’s 1969 Hollywood film, but he will also play the controversial figure in the upcoming second season of David Fincher’s “Mindhunter.”

21 Actresses Who Received Hate But Hardly Any Corresponding Coverage

After a behind-the-scenes photo of Grant in his new super-suit leaked out to the public, fans eviscerated his new Flash suit and then proceeded to rip apart his body image.

As a result of the backlash, huge news outlets picked up the story, such as ABC News, CNN, and People Magazine. Tons of support poured from every end to not only highlight the double standard in the body shaming of men and women but to also applaud Gustin’s strength in the face of it.

Like news outlets should, they covered an injustice and highlighted the issues that create and stem from this injustice.

However, an injustice that has gone on for almost a decade that has yet to be recognized stems from the hate and vitriol commonly thrown at actresses that don't receive nearly the same amount of coverage.
