Great boxing game that isn't as much of an update as it should have been.
28 February 2018 | by OlicosmicSee all my reviews

With Fight Night Round 4 being the immense update that fans of the series wanted, it was nerve racking to see how EA would follow that up. And unfortunately, this game doesn't bring a lot to the table when it comes to updates. It does include a fantastic story mode, which is very engaging and amazing to see in a fight night game. While that is fantastic on its own, this game as a whole is just not that different from Round 4, as the only things that got updated, and not even in a big way, are the visuals and the gameplay, as the visuals look a bit better and the gameplay is more button based. Both of these are definite improvements, but considering that these are the only 2 things that EA really improved makes this game even less of an update than what Round 3 was to Round 2, which is disappointing considering this game is the first in the series to not include Round #. This game is pretty much Round 4 with a story mode. However, despite these shortcomings, this game is still fantastic for the most part, and I definitely recommend it to anyone whos a boxing fan, as this game still has a ton to make them happy. Overall, this is a great boxing game that isn't as much of an update as it should have been. At least in my opinion, anyways.
