Failed spin-off of another failed show
17 February 2016 | by See all my reviews

As a spin-off of the failed previous show ("Police Women of Dallas"), "Police Women of Cincinnati" shares many of the same faults. There's nothing that this show does that other similar (and more successful) cop TV shows did not do. I don't see why being female means they have to spawn more of the same old scenarios. Male officers also have to face the same type of dangerous situations, (and statistically it is men that make up the vast majority of deaths in homicide/street attacks), but yet they don't get a special TV show just for those of the same sex. Petty, uninspired and rips off other shows that have been doing the same concept for a TV show for decades now.

There is one thing that stands out about this show, however. Usually, the main characters are the protagonists, or at least there are protagonists of some kind in a show. With this show, there are no real protagonists. At times, the women on this show seem to portray an image of a bully that feels the need to compensate for a lack of something (in this case, maybe it's physical strength, or level-hoodedness), often through verbal threats or other ways of overstepping their bounds. This mentality is present in the main actresses' behavior towards other people - a desperate cry for dominance and control over the situation, and a mockery of real professionals. This mentality should not be encouraged, but rather reprimanded by their boss. It's like these women were not really prepared for the job and were just hired for diversity quotas.

Good thing this crappy show did not last more than 8 episodes. There are better shows that could have been airing during all that time wasted.
