Trivia

Bliss Is... (2009) came to fruition after Brijana Prooker was asked to audition for a PSA in which a woman in love with her boyfriend chastises him for not wearing a condom when they had sex the night before and accuses him of potentially giving her AIDS. Bri wondered why the woman wouldn't have just told her boyfriend to put on a condom before sex and how, if she hadn't told him to, she could put all the blame on him when she chose to have sex with him without a condom. Bri then got to wondering, what if there was a woman who wasn't just irresponsible, but who genuinely didn't know about the repercussions of having sex without a condom until after the fact, what if a woman was so isolated from society that what seems like common knowledge to most was foreign to her. And what if her boyfriend knew but chose not to tell her. A character study was then born, as was Bliss Is... (2009) See more »

BLISS IS… provides stripped-down production – no artful lighting or intricate camera angles – and an incisive look at the stripped-bare emotions of a fragile, but unbroken woman. The director made the right decision in keeping the camera squarely focused on Bri -- nothing should take your attention away from her acting and storytelling triumph in BLISS IS...
