Plot Summary

The true story of a nonviolent protest march from Portland, OR on Washington by World War I veterans during the Great Depression. The machinations of several persons including J. Edgar Hoover, Gen. Douglas MacArthur, and members of the American Communist Party lead to a situation in which the government deployed troops against its own countrymen, killing 4 individuals. The public backlash against Herbert Hoover led to the election of FDR, the era of the New Deal, and eventual passage of the Bonus Bill. Written by Emmert
