A spunky look at grrrls who game.
2 December 2010 | by See all my reviews

This film boasts a great ensemble of young actors who bring tons of attitude. It's a fun look at an insular group of tough girls who surprise us by opening their hearts and their dugout to Callie Argyle, who just wants to be part of a team. The dialog starts off strong and witty, laden with double entendres, but finishes weak in a too-long monologue. However, the film clips along overall, and there are plenty of chuckles in the sports action sequences to buoy you for the big finish. The film's snarky jokes barely conceal the important messages of confidence and self-empowerment as Callie seizes what she really wants.
