- One castaway makes a difficult decision that backfires, allowing another castaway the opportunity to devise a strategy to flush out the hidden immunity idol and blindside a rival.
- Previously on...: The tribes merged, leaving Brenda and Sash in the position to call the shots. They set their sights on Marty, but NaOnka generated some bad blood by stealing food. She brought Alina with her, though, and that allowed everyone to focus on Alina. At Tribal Council, Marty blew up and started trying to sell Jane as a huge threat to win the whole thing if she makes it to the end. Alina was voted out, becoming the first member of the jury, and leaving Marty and Jane in an even more heated rivalry.
Libertad camp: NaOnka tells us Marty was "too hard" on Jane. Chase asks Brenda if she bought Marty's "bulls---." Jane says Marty was a "jackass to try to attack me." She says Marty "can't beat me physically, much less mentally." She says it's "grasping at straws because he knows his days are numbered."
Day 23: Marty asks Sash who put his name down. Sash thinks it was Holly. Marty says some people are "just stupid." He thinks he "cleared the air," but admits there's "no question that I'm potentially in trouble here."
Marty pulls Benry and Dan aside and tells them about a big plan he has to tell everyone they're voting NaOnka out, but then switch the vote to Jane. He tells them it's "pretty scary" when he thinks of how many votes Jane might already have locked up if she makes the final. He wants to get Brenda on board. Jane knows Marty is trying to poison the well on her.
Reward challenge: The players are divided into two teams and they must run through an obstacle course to collect three keys. The first team to use their keys to open three locks wins reward. They're playing for a zipline trip and tour, and a "Survivor" barbecue.
Teams are randomly drawn and "amazingly," Jeff says, they ended up men versus women. Chase is the odd man out, but he has to choose a team to support. If his team wins, he gets to go on the reward. He picks the girls.
It's even at first, but the guys get out to a big lead in the middle of the course. Jane has trouble getting through a net maze, putting the girls even further behind. The guys finish before the women even get to the final stage. A victorious Benry walks by Chase, mocking him for having "no faith."
Purple Kelly cries a little because she is so hungry. Jeff asks the winning guys if any of them, for the sake of team play or their alliance, wants to give up his spot on the reward, and they all say no.
Marty tells us he's baffled by Chase's choice to side with the girls, saying, "Watching Chase join Jane was like watching 'Dumb and Dumber.'"
Reward: The guys have a blast zipping around the Nicaraguan jungle, and apparently building some nice camaraderie. Meanwhile, a meat fest awaits, complete with cold beers.
Marty takes the opportunity to tell them his big plan: He wants word to get around that NaOnka is going home to flush out the idol. Then everyone "with Brenda" should vote for Jane. Benry says the plan is "solid" and, "if properly executed, it could definitely ruffle a few feathers." Sash doesn't really say much. Later, Fabio tells Sash he needs to tell Brenda "we" still want her in the game. Sash nods along, but tells us that he thinks he and Brenda "are the two brightest minds out here and, in the end, she and I have the power to send whoever we want home."
Back at camp: Chase and the girls huddle up in solidarity and the girls say they're glad he's there. Brenda tells us Chase made a mistake in choosing the girls, because it was an emotional decision. She says he makes bad decisions. Chase later tells us he "wanted to show the girls they can trust me."
Chase tells NaOnka he's worried about Brenda, and tells us later that he's not sure where he stands with her because they haven't talked a lot lately. He then tells her she seems "really unsure." Brenda tells us "Chase is a worry wart" and says he's "like a little baby that's always going, 'Wah, wah, wah, wah.'" She says one thing she doesn't like is paranoia.
NaOnka tells Brenda directly, "I told him, 'Don't go over there and start irkin' Brenda.' And what did he do? Came over and start irkin' Brenda." She tells us they might have to swap him out for someone else in the alliance because his "paranoia is getting to be too much."
Immunity challenge: Only one immunity necklace is back up for grabs. It's a test of memory. Jeff will show a series of symbols and the players have to repeat the series back to him. With each wrong guess a player is eliminated.
After the first round of symbols, it's down to Marty, Chase, Brenda, Benry and Fabio, who is the first of the final five to fall out. He's followed by Chase. Down to Marty, Benry and Brenda, and Benry is the next one out. It's down to Marty and Brenda and they both guess the next symbol correctly. The next symbol is Marty's undoing, though, as he guesses wrong and Brenda wins immunity.
Back at camp: Fabio and Benry get some time alone to discuss Marty's big plan and they seem to be on board. Benry tells Fabio that they just need to lay low, say they're voting for NaOnka and "play stupid."
"I know, dude," Fabio says. "I hate playing stupid so much, but it's the smartest thing to do."
Marty tells Chase the vote is going to be NaOnka. She tells us that she's street smart and if she has to use the immunity idol to save herself, she will.
Marty pulls Brenda aside and tells her the whole plan to say it's NaOnka to flush out the idol and then blindside Jane. Brenda nods along, but the little catch is that Marty tells Brenda the whole plan was Sash's, not his.
Sash and Brenda run into each other and discuss the plan. They're worried that letting Jane, Holly and crew get their way on voting Marty out will put them on a slippery slope toward losing control. Sash wants to keep Marty around a bit longer.
"I like to be in charge, and I kind of am in charge right now," Brenda says.
Tribal Council: Sash tells Jeff "there was a lot of bonding time" when the guys went off to the reward. Marty reiterates his position that Jane is an incredible threat. Jane says she thinks she has a target on her back.
Jeff brings up the story again about how NaOnka stole some food, but she says she doesn't want to talk about it anymore. Marty jumps in and says it was "absolutely not trivial." NaOnka says she just doesn't like Marty. They get into another verbal fight, and NaOnka accepted all comers, turning her anger toward Fabio. Jeff says he's speechless that NaOnka "can go off like this Tribal after Tribal and still be in this game, tells me I should be looking for you to be sitting here at the final."
The vote: Jane writes down Marty's name, saying he is "a disgrace to anyone who calls himself a father."
Marty writes down Jane's name, saying, "Y'all's catfishing trip has been terminated, 'cause y'all messed with the wrong gator, missy." On his way back to his seat, Marty gets flipped off by NaOnka.
Jeff asks if anyone has a hidden immunity idol and wants to play it, and all eyes turn to NaOnka, who ... does nothing. Marty looks disappointed, Sash a bit confused.
Jeff reads the votes: Jane, Marty, Jane, Jane, Jane, Marty, Marty, Marty, Marty, and the 10th person voted off and the second member of the jury is Marty.
Fabio shakes his head, then scratches it.
The vote, revealed: Dan, Fabio, Marty and Benry voted for Jane, and everyone else voted for Marty.
Marty's last words: "I wouldn't change a thing I did to my game. There's always going to be a risk and it got me tonight. It's frustrating to lose but I'm not frustrated by anything other than there weren't enough people really playing the game, but obviously there were enough playing the game tonight. I didn't see it coming, otherwise I wouldn't be sitting here right now. It sucks to not be in the game. It absolutely sucks."
