Two's company, three's a crowd. Or murder in this case. Shannon Crawley is a piece of work. She was the lover – in reality bit on the side – of church-going police officer Jermeir Stroud. When he ditched her for Denita Smith, she saw red. Stroud and Smith had previously been lovers, but this time they were going to tie the knot.
Crawley murdered Smith with a single shot to the head, and then methodically set about framing Stroud for the crime. After being charged with murder she was released on $175,000 bond, and in the lengthy wait for the case to come to trial she accused Stroud of raping her, she also taped phone conversations of him apparently making incriminating statements. The important word in that sentence is apparently.
At trial it was the defense rather than the prosecution that attempted to suppress the rape allegation, and as for the taped phone conversations, whoever's voice was heard on them, it was not Stroud's.
Crawley took the stand in her own defense, under the circumstances she could hardly not do so, but was convicted. This documentary includes both interviews and actual footage, including of the moment the jury convicted her.
