Father and Son dynamics come into focus as a troupe of actors, and others, gather to rehearse and perform a stage-reading of a famous play in...three days. Reality intrudes as they come together and strangers bond, like in war. Without a net, they galvanize during rehearsal while the lead actor manager, both as himself and his character of Hamlet, grapples with the unexpected task of coming to terms with his powerful and famous father. Alex is UK born, raised in SoCal desert, the son of British Character great Wilfrid Hyde-White and was an actor at birth. He got his professional start as one of the last contract players at Universal Studios, at age 19. His journey has taken him to from Broadway to Motion Capture, stopping along the way in such locations as Greece, Hungary, London, Toronto and New York, at Civil War and WWI battlefields and to Comic Book infamy as the original Mr. Fantastic. His love of film and the craft of acting combined to produce "Pursuit of Happiness (2001)" and the upcoming "Three Days (of Hamlet)" which marks his directing debut. In the film he gathers together a cast of veterans and newcomers, including Richard Chamberlain, Stefanie Powers and Peter Woodward, and puts them in the crucible of a three-day rehearsal process culminating in a performance of Hamlet! The lives of the players juxtapose with their characters in charming and insightful ways, none more so than the actor/manager lead who is haunted by both fathers-his and his character's.—Director
