Trivia

To achieve the effect of weightlessness for the actors and actresses in the battle room, two rigs were invented for this movie, used to capture zero gravity scenes. First was a lollipop arm, which is like a counter-balance offering a full range of motion. The second innovation was a "people crane". It's a contraption, sort of like the lollipop arm, but put on air pucks so that the effects is like you are floating around in the air. See more »

Goofs

The launch acceleration is much too high. It appears to be about 6g, which would probably have caused a number of the cadets to black out. The Saturn V that launched the Apollo astronauts reached a very brief peak acceleration of 4g with the 1st stage. The other stages didn't produce more than 2g (stage 2) or 0.75g (stage 3). Quotes

[first lines]
Ender Wiggin: Fifty years ago an alien force known as the Formics attacked Earth. Tens of millions died. It was only through the sacrifice of our greatest commander that we avoided total annihilation. We've been preparing for them to come back ever since. The International Fleet decided that the world's smartest children are the planet's best hope. Raised on war games, their decisions are intuitive, decisive, fearless. I am one of those recruits.

An exciting adaptation true to the story
30 October 2013 | by DannyDawgSee all my reviews

Ender's Game is not a perfect film. It rushes through certain important points, and leaves out other parts altogether, instead what you get is a flawed but enjoyable movie that ultimately succeeds, because it always keeps its goal in sight.

Certain things about this movie such as the justification for child soldiers, Ansible Technology, and the Genius of the main group of Kids will be best understood by the book readers.

The film has wonderful visuals with exciting CGI to showcase the important Battle Room.

The Acting by Harrison Ford and Asa Butterfield is one of the strengths this project has. They maintain a tense and believable relationship that is very much like the original story.

Ultimately the climax of this movie and its main message is what sets it apart from many other Sci-Fi films. The emotion is very much there, and anyone willing to give this film a try will not be disappointed.
