Detective Ben Nolan is sent to investigate the story of a convicted prostitute and known drug dealer Linda Grossel. Linda explains that she was kidnapped and held captive for weeks. As the investigation unfolds, Linda's sanity is put to question, leaving Ben to decide whether to go on with the investigation or leave Linda to the fate of the prison system. Written by Anonymous
Solidly acted story of the things that can get out of control when YOU'RE out of control. It's not presented as preachy or a moral lesson, but when you're drugging' and running' with the hoods in all the usual places they frequent, well...stuff happens that isn't always pleasant.
There was one huge gap in storyline nearer to the end that drove me NUTS - how could you not notice that she...!! - but a good, albeit disturbing, film overall. The actors generally play reality straight, and don't drag the film down by over-the-top portrayals of character types, and that I appreciated. I think I was extra disturbed by this film based on the fact it was shot in Oregon, where I live, and that they chose the town of Keizer (evidenced by a police uniform early on, that is actually known to be really druggy and high-crime.
