Others who may have had reason to want him dead have equally shaky alibis. DI Miskin looks into those and one in particular does not stand up to scrutiny. Another murder eliminates that person as a suspect. DI Daniel Aron finds a photo that links one of the Peverell Press employees to family dearths in Nazi concentrate camps in World War II. In the end, the killer does not obtain the satisfaction hoped for. A lapse of judgment on DI Aron's part leads to another ghastly death. —garykmcd

Divine retribution.

The latest victim, Esme Carling is found, floating in The Thames, another piece in the jigsaw.

It's been a very good mystery series, it ends with the best episode of the trio. What initially seemed to be a solid whodunnit, became something a lot deeper, more intricate, and altogether engaging.

The ending did come as a surprise, as did the reasons for the killings. The final showdown scene is brilliant, it's been a real sense of hatred and revenge, thoroughly engaging.

Bannen was terrific here I thought, what a presence, with such a wonderful speaking voice. Credit to Sylvia Sims also, she must have been frozen in that water.

I loved it, 9/10.
