The storyline was continued in a six-issue comic book series published by American Mythology Productions, SGU Stargate Universe: Back to Destiny, released in 2017/2018.

Goofs
Dr. Park has been blinded by exposure to solar radiation. Lt. Johansen says, "there's no treatment... her corneas were burned by ultraviolet radiation." There is a treatment for this - corneal transplants are not uncommon on Earth. It's possible that Lt. Johansen means that Dr. Park's retinas were damaged; there would be no treatment for that. Additionally, corneal damage would present as severely blurred or cloudy vision, not complete loss of vision.

Good episode. It's just too bad that more of the episodes in this series were not like this one. For me, there was too much straying from the main story and that's really sad because this series had so much potential......exactly like Rush told Eli. LOL. SGU ultimately was a good series, but not nearly as good as SG-1 or Atlantis. I think the reason for this is not just because the series was dark and depressing, which I don't mind at all, but I think it was because too many episodes were just filler that had absolutely nothing to do with the main story. At least the series ended on a high note.
