loved this story

First, I was positively surprised by Butler in this role, he tackles brilliantly a multifaceted character who turns out to be a lot more than he appears on the first half hour of the movie -you kind of hate him, deeply, if he was an animal he would be a hornet I would want to be squashed- but that is only the surface for this guy, who we see in many different lights throughout the story. The movie is a ride between laughter and cries, leaning slightly over the cries as some scenes have a strong emotional weight -have tissues with you, will ya- and carry you through the journey that the main character Dane(Butler) experiences while he re-values his life and choices as he copes with a family crisis. It is an old format but well interpreted and the photography is beautifully crafted. All in all, if you are a sucker for emotional stories with a moral, this is a movie you probably want to watch it has different pace, much quicker to start with, perhaps a bit too fast when it comes to dialogues, but it made sense with the strong contrast I believe they wanted to give to the story when Dane's real journey starts. I enjoyed it deeply, that's a;; I can say without giving out spoilers, with 10 STAR points for Moll who is, as ever, sublime, as well as for the young Max Jenkins, who shows incredible talent and depth for his age. A mention to Kher, Foe and Molina for they never fail to deliver; and as for the main character Dane Jensen, well played by Butler, glad to see he hasn't forgotten he is a lot more than the tough guy he served us way too many times of late. The only down point to this movie is towards the end, which I felt it was a bit rushed to end the movie in the way they wanted, so if I had a score 0 to 10 to give the movie it would probably be 9.5 for that reason, otherwise it would have been a ten as I really loved it.
