We've got five storylines on the Lane tonight.
First up Bree is so taken with her new contractor Keith that, while ogling his butt, she runs over Juanita Solis backing out of her driveway. They take her to the hospital and she's going to be okay so Gaby doesn't call Carlos back from his business trip but pulls Bree and Andrew aside wondering if they're trying to rid the world of all the Juanita Solises. (Juanita was named for her grandma.) Andrew thanks her for not ratting him out to Carlos.
After Gaby leaves, Andrew says he saw Bree ogling Keith and knows that's why she ran over Juanita. She insists she was merely fiddling with the radio. He says okay, but points out that particular model of radio is 15 years too young for her.
When Bree finds that Keith is irresistible -- he's shirtless when she returns from the hospital -- she fires him. She cites him being messy and his overpowering cologne. He doesn't wear any. He understandably is annoyed and leaves.
Later while gardening she confides in McCluskey that she fired Keith because she was attracted to him and with a six day old divorce and their age difference she decided to simply eliminate the distraction. McCluskey tells her that life is short and the avoidance of risk can definitely turn into regrets and to act.
So Bree tracks Keith down in a pool hall and asks him to come back. He's resistant at first but decides to re-up. But before he can tell her that she accidentally runs him over. Undeterred, he says he's back on the job.
In Susan's storyline, she has her first day at Va-Va-Va-Broom but she's too self-conscious about cleaning in her frilly underthings. So her matronly boss comes over and shows her how to shake it properly while she vacuums. She starts to get into it and really make some cash. One day however, Mike comes home early and wants to get it on when he sees her dusting in her nightie. She manages to close the laptop just as he sweeps her off her feet. She's starting to feel guilty about lying to Mike who is very appreciative of all the cash she's bringing in with her "jewelry" business.
After Juanita is run over, Paul Young comes by to visit as do other neighbors McCluskey, Lynette and Bree. They all pray together at Paul's urging and are totally skeeved out. Later, a bunch of neighbors are hanging out on the Lane dishing about Juanita--including Bob and Lee-- and a lost-looking woman comes down the street struggling with a suitcase and a goldfish. It turns out to be Paul Young's, young new wife.
It turns out that Paul and Beth met and married while he was in prison. She's one of those wacky gals who gets off on writing to inmates. Now that he's out he's moved her in. They have an awkward first dinner without plexiglass separating them and when he mentions his excitement over spending the night together, she points out that they're just getting to know each other and that she's not ready for sex yet.
He waits a full week and comes home with a gift of lingerie. She says it's not her style and thought that they were going to take it slow. He says they're married, he waited a week and he won't wait much longer. She seems skittish and he goes and gets all the letters she sent him and has her read aloud from passages in which she talked about making love "all night long." She admits she thought he was going to stay in prison and never expected this. He says, in that threateningly calm voice of his, that he understands that she must be a disturbed young woman to have met and married a man in prison for murder and that he'll try to be patient but that eventually she's going to have to give it up.
In the Scavo storyline Tom keeps coming home from work sick for some reason. Lynette wishes that he would either go to the doctor and find out what's wrong instead of lying around watching TV and not being helpful. Renee warns Lynette that she and her soon-to-be-ex also fought like this and is worried about Lynette's marriage. Lynette tells her to butt out.
Later, Tom comes to Lynette after having gone to the doctor and says he was diagnosed with post-partum depression and insists it's a real thing, especially for men his age. Lynette poo-poos this idea even with presented with a pamphlet. So Tom and Renee stay up all night talking. The next morning Renee-- who is now toying with the idea of moving to Fairview -- informs Lynette that Tom feels like he isn't being heard. Again, Lynette tells her to butt out, that her marriage is not a guest bathroom in Renee's home that she can remodel at will.
Renee just can't help herself though. Lynette arrives home with bags of groceries and the baby and is told by a very unhelpful Preston that Tom and Renee are out to dinner at a French restaurant and Lynette should come if she wants. She does and Tom informs her that he feels "invalidated" when he talks to Lynette. Lynette pulls Renee aside and again tells her to butt out. Renee admits she may be meddling but points out that Tom's pain is real and that Lynette isn't listening. Later that night Lynette apologizes to Tom and validates his post-partum diagnosis. She offers either a long sensitive conversation or sex as a way to make it up to him and he takes the talk option.
The next morning Lynette reiterates that Renee should stay out of it but is thankful for her friend's advice this time and makes her wish she would stay around. It turns out that she is, she's going to rent Edie's house. When Tom hears this he lets Lynette go inside and then asks Renee if this is a good idea. She says it will be fine and what "happened" between them happened a million years ago. Even so, says Tom, Lynette can never know.
Finally, in the Solis storyline Gaby is asked a few questions by a nurse including when Gaby and Carlos adopted Juanita. Gaby is confused. The nurse says since she and Carlos are both type O there's no way they could have a type A baby. She then realizes what this must mean and shuts down. Gaby starts getting upset at what the nurse is implying and says the baby is Carlos', rips out the offending info from Juanita's chart and runs off.
Gaby calls Susan to the hospital to refresh her memory about a ski trip they took together 8 years previously where they met a cute French guy. She wants Susan to remind her what time she came back to the room. Susan says the sun was coming up and since Gaby can't remember anything she now thinks Juanita might belong to the Frenchman.
She plots and plans what she'll tell Carlos. When he arrives late at night and hops into bed she pretends to be asleep and then rolls on top of him and starts kissing him. She then pretends to wake up confused and says she can't believe her "sex-somnia" is back and insists it's a real thing she can't control. Carlos wonders since when. She says at least since before the girls were born. When he wants to really do it, she claims to be too tired.
The next day at the hospital when Carlos goes to check Juanita out he notices the ripped chart page. Just as the nurse is about to explain Gaby approaches and sees what's happening and tries to run away. Carlos stops her and she "confesses" to the French tryst. He doesn't get mad because, of course, he knows the truth, Juanita was switched at birth. He takes Gaby to a private room and tells her and she, understandably, breaks down.
After Renee begins spending a lot of time with Tom, an angry Lynette feels she's trying to sabotage their marriage; Bree fires Keith without warning when she suddenly finds herself falling for him; Susan is wracked with guilt about lying to Mike about her new, risque side job; Gabrielle rushes to the hospital after learning that Bree accidentally hit Juanita with the car; and Paul introduces the women of Wisteria Lane to his new wife.
