Storyline

In the winter of 2002, over 300 bodies were discovered strewn about the property of the Tri-State Crematory in Noble, GA, in various stages of decay. "Sahkanaga" imagines this event from the perspective of a teenager who discovers the first body. Filmed on location in Walker County, GA, with a cast of non-professional actors, some of whom had direct connections to the real-life scandal, "Sahkanaga" observes a tight-knit community on the brink of a terrible tragedy and their efforts to make sense of the unknowable. Stunning
13 April 2012 | by buckrabbitSee all my reviews

This is an excellent film on all points. It is a very believable script with all lines delivered in the manner that you would expect people to behave. The characters are portrayed as imperfect and the villain is shown humanely. The director did a great job with these non-professional actors. It is very sublime as the story unfolds and the quality of cinematography is surpasses most movies made with this budget.

John Henry Summerour has future as a director in the film industry. I hope to see more of him soon.

This is a superb creation that does not deserve to be buried along with "typical" low budget indie films. Seek it out.
