Our hero, Scott Drizhal, is chosen to go on a solo mission to Mars as part of a reality show. Unfortunately the show is canceled and Scott is now stuck in space. His only companion is a smart-ass, artificially-intelligent ship computer (PHAL)... or is it? The Japanese mafia have a special interest in the state-of-the-art spacecraft, Artemis, and have stowed away their own secrets. Written by Jonathan Nail
Fun opening episode. Without spoilers I'll just say the show combines the best of 2001, SGU, Big Brother, Moon, Falcon Crest, etc.
The first episode does a great job of introducing all the players and the conceit. Like a lot of pilot episodes on web series however, it feels more like a prologue than an actual episode. Made me wish for a couple of more scenes but I'm also happy to be teased when the teasing is this funny and intriguing.
Nail is a wonderful comedic actor and very watchable. Great to see Michele Boyd in what promises to be a meatier role than The Guild or Penny Dreadfuls. However, really looking forward to seeing her in Zimm the Series.
All the other actors are great as well.
Funny from beginning to end. Looking forward to future episodes.
