Storyline

A US Marine sergeant dies in an explosion during a demonstration (related to the signing of a treaty) at the US embassy in the fictional nation of Belgravia (on the Balkan Peninsula in southeastern Europe); the sergeant saves the foreign minister of defense and countless others from injury; the US Secretary of State moves the signing to Washington, DC. The NCIS receives a charge to provide protective security to the minister's daughter, who's a doctoral student in Washington; she tells McGee and Ziva to "shove it"; her father convinces her otherwise. However, two disguised people kidnap her; the FBI investigates; the gang hold a campfire and take action, then they learn more, then they find even more. The NCIS does not officially investigate the death of the Marine, but Ducky eventually gets the body, then he and Abby provide important clues. Everything works out in an unusual way. Trivia

Ducky and Palmer walk into Autopsy to find Gibbs sleeping on a table using a package of paper towels as a pillow. This is a direct reference to the pilot episode, "Yankee White," in which an impatient Gibbs does the same after Ducky suggests that he catch up on sleep while he performs an autopsy. See more »

Quotes

Ziva David: How long do you think we're going to be together?
Special Agent Timothy McGee: You and Ray?
Ziva David: No, us. I mean you've been here 7 years. Tony's been here longer.
Special Agent Timothy McGee: I do think about that myself sometimes. I mean - Tony turned down a post in Spain 4 years ago. Careerwise, he can't do that again.
Ziva David: Do you think you'd want to lead your own team?
Special Agent Timothy McGee: ...Yeah. Yeah. Someday sure.

Vance
15 February 2011 | by butchsquagmireSee all my reviews

I continue to find Vance to be an annoyance. He does not compliment the shows excellent plots. Vance just seems to be added as an irritant and the character does not follow logical progression into the team. He needs to be replaced. Perhaps he could be shipped off to NCIS Los Angeles? This would allow a new opening in the shows cast. The antagonists in the show must continue to be the "Bad Guys" not the main characters. We viewers must have the luxury of knowing that, the unlikable characters will soon be gone,if not this episode then the next. Development of both McGee's and Tony's personal life would be a good direction to take. They both would have some friends outside work who could make return appearances. This is the finest drama on television in my opinion. I personally want it to continue at that caliber.
