This show is fake (so far)
26 August 2010 | by leorochkaSee all my reviews

Pros: It's entertaining. It will appeal to many young girls with secret crushes. I like the methods used (i.e. not just a simple makeover, there's the whole fear facing/motivational challenges). It's cute, unique and hilarious. I love what Louise dresses the girls in.

Cons: The girls are chosen very carefully - even before the makeover, you can easily tell they're cuties (in some cases they're just stunning, just that they dress like hobos) and rather thin. The crushes, some of them seemed like they "play for the other team"...hence, their "Oh, I like you too" is fake. Well, the show overall is fake. I would be very, very surprised if all the girls didn't turn out to be actresses and guys weren't paid to be nice on that date (some of them looked almost horrified when the girl was revealed). All the cute guys on the challenge for each Plain Jane to flirt - the 'success', the last one that gives his phone number - acting.

It's too bad, on one hand I wish the show survived, as it's hilarious to watch and if the producers grow a pair and get actual, average plain jane - it would be fun to watch. On the other hand, if it continues to be this string of fake, too perfect, too scripted episodes - I won't watch it and, I'm afraid, it will be canceled.
