The symbols and eyes of the colossi are similar to the bioluminescent traits of the kaiju.
The Incredible Hulk (2008)
When fighting Kaijus the Jaeger uses intermodal containers as boxing gloves much as the hulk did (only using cars instead of intermodal containers) when he fought the Abomination in The Incredible Hulk.
Portal 2 (2011) (Video Game)
When everyone is rushing around trying to shut down Gipsy Danger when Mako is about to fire the plasma cannon, you can hear someone in the background shout "Quick! Release the neurotoxin!" which is a reference to Portal, and GLaDOS' love of neurotoxin. GLaDOS' voice actress, Ellen McLain, voices the Jaeger's interface.
