    • Trivia
Boyd (Walton Goggins) says he's reading "Of Human Bondage". The book is written by W. Somerset Maugham, who is one of Walton Goggins' favorite authors.
    • Goofs
When Raylan goes to visit Mags Bennett at her home at the beginning of the episode he brings her an apple pie in a box which she sets on the picnic table in front of her. As the scene progresses the position of the box changes to the flap outside and facing way from Mags toward Raylan to the flap inside and facing Mags and back again even though nobody touches it.
    • Quotes

Rachel Brooks: When I was Nick's age, before my father's cancer, I thought we were the Cosbys. My parents had good jobs, there was a feast on the table after church on Sundays. Shawnee and I would ride our huffys around the neighborhood. We had good hair, and made straight A's. Except, as my mother reminds me, that wasn't reality. The jobs weren't all that good, and my father was never a happy man even before he got sick. And Shawnee was smoking pot at 9 and running away to smoke heroin at 15.

Raylan Givens: I never bore any illusions that my family was the Cosbys.

Chief Deputy Art Mullen: You're family wasn't funny.

Tim Gutterson: At least you got to shoot your father. Mine had the nerve to die before I got back from Basic with skills and a loaded weapon.

Raylan Givens: You didn't miss much. I thought it was gonna be way more fun than it was.

    Not the Cosbys
'For Blood or Money' hands over the A-plot to Rachel (for once), pressing her into service when her brother-in-law violently breaks his parole and takes it on the lam. It's a good story and leaves her dealing with some family issues ("When I was Nick's age, before my father's cancer, I thought we were the Cosbys.") and her first shooting - but it's the other subplots going on around it that are more interesting. Chief among them Boyd, who's still trying to fend off some potential partners-in-crime over a job her has no inclination towards.

The best scene, for me, is the sit-down early on between Raylan and Emmett Arnett. Not only does it recall Wynn Duffy, but their loaded conversation is characteristic of the series' velvety-smooth dialogue.

The pacing for this episode is off compared to those immediately preceding, but this show's never not entertaining.
