Story of two young people who belong to different worlds. It is the chronicle of a love improbable, almost impossible but inevitable dragging in a frantic journey they discover the first great love. Babi is a girl from upper-middle class that is educated in goodness and innocence . Hache is a rebellious boy, impulsive, unconscious, has an appetite for risk and danger embodied in endless fights and illegal motorbike races, the limit of common sense. Written by bettyboop8504

More than meets the eye

Agreed, this is a film that can withstand repeat viewings. The love story is epic , Barcelona looks beautiful and there is a great soundtrack, but take it from me, someone 50+, this is really a movie about family dynamics. It's also very well scripted. I translate Spanish professionally; the original dialog is solid.

Notice that Hugo isn't really "from the wrong side of the tracks." His family doesn't seem to be as affluent as Babi's, but he certainly was raised in an educated, upper-middle-class environment. His circumstances, especially respecting his mother, pushed him over the edge. Of course, he was unable to get a grip on his emotions, at least till the end of the story. And his finally being able to do so marked his first steps into adulthood.

Observation: I hope Coca-Cola did its part to defray the film's budget. I can't recall ever seeing such blatant product placement in a non-US production.
