The entire plot is based on the 2012 galactic allignment end of world scenario, and the lead character teams up with an attractive archeologist and together they run from rogue government agents who also want the artifact, whilst narrowly avoiding death both from being shot and by falling into the earth during massive earthquakes. It is stated that after an earthquake Italy sinks into the Mediterranean Sea. Italy sits on the African tectonic plate. The African plate is heading north, and is diving underneath the European plate. Thus every time the plate moves north, Italy and the Alps on the European plate actually rise in height, as Italy is being rammed into the Alps. So in real life if there were a giant earthquake near Italy, the land would go up not down. See more »

Surprisingly interesting. Subject is very actual and overused in many movies but this one brings a different twist to the "end-of-the-world" franchise.
This is not like the Hollywood product-placement films, it actually has content, action, some real pieces of spirituality inserted here and there discreetly, otherwise the fanatics would raise their bible! A great movie. To the opposite of some reviewers, I'm not into the already chewed up flicks from Hollywood and such so my review is not based on how much sex, drugs, loud music, barely hidden publicity, and how many corporates names are inserted in the movie, it's about the IMAGINATION (unknown to the Hollywood crowd!) Don't be biased by the Hollywood lover, this is a very good movie and deserves more than it has.
