Storyline

Elderly Mrs. Wong was once a star in the Beijing Opera. Living now in Toronto, she is a music teacher, her Beijing Opera life largely behind her in a practical sense, albeit not emotionally. As a teacher, she is unable to pass on her musical knowledge to its full potential as music for most of her students is just one activity among many in which they partake in their overly scheduled lives. And younger Chinese she encounters that know of Chinese opera see it as an old fashioned and not enjoyable form of entertainment. Feeling the need to get in touch with her past, Mrs. Wong takes advantage of an opportunity on her way home on the subway. Written by Huggo
