| Trivia | Although a work of fiction, The Curse is inspired by real-life events - namely the infamous Brink's-Mat robbery that occurred at the Heathrow International Trading Estate near Heathrow Airport, west London on 26th November 1983. 6 men broke into the Brink's-Mat warehouse expecting to steal £3.2 million in cash but discovered the warehouse contained three tons of gold bullion. The robbers escaped with £26 million worth of gold, diamonds and cash. The so-called Curse of the Brink's-Mat millions refers to the early deaths of a number of people allegedly involved in the laundering of the stolen gold. See more » |
