No? It's this: the rating of each of the last five episodes is steadily declining. Not a good sign.
The series' self deprecating recaps also become more filled with self loathing and strangely, throwing shade at its own audience. Weird.
Vaughn continues to do Vaughn things, and (with few exceptions) the supporting actors stumble along in poor performances. The convoluted story, filled with a stunning amount of coincidences and unlikely connected plots, has grown exhausting.
And who exactly are we supposed to be rooting for?
Sure, villains are supposed to do villain-y things, but there are so many skeevy people in this series that it's hard to watch.
And the clumsy and unfunny storylines about the narcissistic ex-girlfriend (Monaghan) and sociopath detective who's out to ruin Vaughn's life are just a distraction. The voodoo faker con artist and her storyline? A waste of time, and not central to the core plot at all.
What does all that add up to?
Boring actually.
