Film is talking about scouts who spend their free time in nature. Aleks is camping near Soca river together with his friends. The scouting leader is taking everything too serious which causes a lot of problems. And boys are a lot more interested in girls than camp. The movie was filmed in ideal Triglav National Park in Slovenia.
I tried to like this movie, I really did... But unfortunately the reality is that it's a "made for kids 9 and younger" type of a movie. Everyone else will perhaps have a laugh or two and not much else. The acting is poor (I know they're mostly kids, but still, they could have done better), the script is badly written (story doesn't really evolve), the directing is below average (putting it mildly) and the movie as a whole simply doesn't work. It's kinda sad that the movie was a summer hit in Slovenia.
There are a few positive things in the movie, however. The scenery is very nice and it does contribute to a slightly better feeling about the movie. The acting of Jurij Zrnec is good, but even he gets a bit lost in the glaring shortcomings off other "actors", and there are even a couple of laughs for the adults. Thats it... Nothing more positive to say about "Gremo mi po svoje", unfortunately.
If you are not a pre-teen kid, you will not like it, period!
