- TriviaThe episode of The Itchy and Scratchy Show, "Ain't I a Stinger?", is a reference to Bugs Bunny's quote: "Ain't I a stinker".
- GoofsAfter Homer and Marge have their 'mummy-daddy' moment in bed, the shot then shows Ned Flanders with his boys at the window opposite as seen through the bedroom window. The Simpsons' window faces out onto the street usually, not along the side of the Flanders' house.
- Quotes
Homer Simpson: The boy's acting really weird. I did everything that T.V. show told me to and he's still not happy.
Marge Simpson: Well, maybe you shouldn't listen to a 30 - year old T.V. show that only got on the air because the creator had evidence the network president ran over a guy.

Certainly a Highlight of this Season,
Homer The Father is a terrific Simpsons episode with a well thought out storyline and a ton of very funny scenes. It is very cleverly written and makes several jokes than you wouldn't expect from the Simpsons, like the many parodies of eighties sitcoms and James Lipton's appearance at the end ,it is certainly one of the funniest episodes of the twenty second season. The Chinese people that Bart gets involved wit were also very funny and delivered several very memorable lines.Homer the Father is a very enjoyable Simpsons episode.
Homer becomes obsessed with an old sitcom called Thicker Than Waters which teaches him to be a better father and he decides to stop strangling Bart and just use his mouth when he's angry, which brings the two closer.Meanwhile Bart really wants to get a new bike but Homer says that he won't get it for him until he starts to behave better.Bart starts working for a terrorist organisation by stealing nuclear power from the plant so that they will pay him enough money so he can buy that bike.
