Storyline

Having been allowed into the CDC building, the survivors meet Dr. Edwin Jenner who appears to be the only survivor in the facility. There is plenty of food and drink and the surroundings are comfortable. A drunken Shane tries to reconcile with Lori Grimes, but she will have nothing to do with it. Dr. Jenner shows them how the infection works to reanimate a dead corpse but admits that he hasn't been able to make any advance on defeating it. Despair sets in at the realization that there is no cure for the plague that has enveloped them. Jenner has his own plans for the future leaving the survivors only a few minutes to leave the facility. Not everyone chooses to leave however. Written by garykmcd

Goofs

Dr. Jenner states that other research centers shut down for lack of electricity, including the one(s) in France. He then states that they lacked electricity "because the world runs on fossil fuels."

France gets 80% of its electricity from CO2-free nuclear power plants which run for more than a year between refueling and can even run for many years without refueling at lower efficiencies. The research center in France may have shut down for lack of electricity, but it wasn't because they ran out of fossil fuels. His fossil-fuel sermon was misplaced. See more »

A Classic Zombie Series
28 February 2011 | by See all my reviews

Finally! After a lot of near-nonsensical zombie movies, we've now come across a stylish, matter-of-fact zombie series that's just gripping...to say the least. Apart from the brilliant direction & screenplay, what really hits the viewer(maybe unconsciously)is the brilliant camera-work...and, hold on, the fantastic background music - which is used to a minimum...it's used only at the right moments! Most of the time there's no music, which actually adds to the tension...making you feel you are with them! Of course, the heavy influence of "28 days Later" & "28 weeks later" is obvious, but it's pardonable, considering the final result. Even the background music is influenced by John Murphy...but hey, no problem! The end result - Can't wait for season 2!
